    • The ACTUAL ROG Ally X case
I bought the previous model of this case which was meant for the original Ally but claimed it worked for the Ally X too. Short answer: it wasn't a good fit for the X. A couple days later I found this version, ordered it, and am much more satisfied. My biggest concern was the interior mold that would hold the X. This version of the case actually has cutouts(?) for the X's back buttons while the old model did not and consequently kept pressing them. Other than that, I find the case to be good overall. It's big and can hold the X and PROBABLY accommodate an armor grip too. The charger fits underneath in its dedicated compartment BUT, you will have to wrap it well so it doesn't push the X up too much. I've had this about a week now and so far it's been a great case overall. It's very sturdy, holds my Ally, charger, and a hub with room to hold more. But they advertise one feature that's just dumb, and that's the strap to lift it out. The strap does (poorly) serve an actual purpose, which I'll get to in a moment, but first let's talk about the advertised use. They advertise the strap as an easy way to get your Ally out of the case. They make it sound like you have to grab it by the thumb sticks otherwise, but that's just not so. There's plenty of room to grab it from the middle the same way you would if it were sitting on a flat surface. Also, trying to put the Ally in the case while keeping the strap positioned in a way that you can grab it later, AND also keep the other short Velcro strap that holds down the screen protector out of the way as well is an absolute pain! So what's my recommendation? Don't use the strap. Not for retrieving the Ally anyway. But as I mentioned, it does have a purpose, and it's not even advertised. If you lift the screen cover, then attach the strap to it, you can prop the Ally up in the case. It doesn't do a great job of it, and it blocks the vents so you don't want to use it like this for gaming. But if you just want to watch some videos or something it'll work in a pinch. Would I recommend this case? Absolutely! But I'd also recommend ignoring the extra strap, or maybe removing it altogether if you don't need it. ... show more

It is a cheap knockoff clone of a clone of a clone. It works well, but is so uninspired it might not actually exist in this timespace. Kidding aside, it fits my Ally X perfectly. It's just boring.

Great case for my ROG ALLY. The case fits my ALLY with a grip case around it, the charger, earbuds, and a small external battery. Case is a bit big but it needs to be in order to fit the device and peripherals. You can use the case as a stand while you play. It's not the best stand, but it gets the job done. If you're thinking of buying this to transport your Ally X with the charger, don't bother. The area underneath for storage is too shallow for the charger, so it won't fit the console properly if you put the charger in the bottom area. How hard is it to measure correctly when designing this crap? FFS. ... show more

    • Holds everything and feels good
I really like my old case, but this one holds so much more. My old case had a storage pocket that sat above the Ally, which would press down on the buttons and sticks if it was too full. This case has a flap underneath the device that has enough room to hold a charging block, USB cable, and external drive for extra storage. On top of that, it also has a pocket that sits above the device if you need to put in a couple extra accessories. The case itself feels sturdy and well constructed.     • Great case but a little tight
Fantastic travel case. Fits the ally nice and snug without flopping around. Felts interior. Only gripe is I wish the top part was a little taller. I was able to fit a light weight mouse in the mesh bag but it was pushing up against my ally and the case was hard to close. I don't recommend putting your mouse in the case and just sticking to the cables you need for your dock and ally. Power brick fit in the bottom of the case but caused the ally to sit a little off the felt, and the power brick does not fit in the top mesh bag. Overall. great case. ... show more
