Description

Considered a very hardy conifer, the Juniper is a non-flowering tree that makes a great choice for bonsai because of it is so easy to prune and train. Originating from China, it is one of the most popular types of bonsai trees and is a firm favorite of many bonsai enthusiasts. The Juniper is a low growing plant, producing lush greenery and small, firm, silvery blue berries atop interesting bark that adapts well to several creative forms of Bonsai bark manipulation. This type of tree offers the choice of being able to grow it indoors or outdoors. Its compact foliage makes it one of the best candidates to become a Bonsai. Junipers grow slowly and are very long-lived. This Juniper will grow with outstanding beauty, remaining green throughout the year. Each live plant is shipped with the Phytosanitary Certificate as required by the USDA.

I personally am not a bonsai person. This was a gift for a dear friend who is a bonsai guy. He knows more about them than I do and when this tree (his gift) arrived he was very excited. Not only is the pot super cool, but the tree came as advertised and fantastically healthy, even right after the shock of shipping. He reported no serious damage and it had no sign of shock. It is a very healthy tree and a very reasonable price, especially considering how neat the pot itself was too. The super healthy little tree just makes it look even better. This is the 6th Brussel’s brand bonsai that I buy. The plants are healthy and well taken care of (all of them). They also come very well packaged and the price is one of the cheapest for the size you get. I think it will be easy to care for (I’ve only had it for a week). The display pot is pretty and mine came with the little fisherman. However, this is not the most ideal pot to have them in. It’s difficult to water without the stone/ soil spilling into the little pool of water. But it does provide a nice amount of humidity around the plant. The ONLY thing that’s annoying me out of all my purchases from Brussel’s, is that aside from this plant that came with the little pool and fisherman, all their pots are white/ ivory! That is so annoying because they look so nice in the pots they are advertised in, and I picked several, all with different pots and colors and now I have 4 with all ivory pots. That is SUPER annoying! Maybe it’s a way to get you to spend more money on their pots?! I will update my review in a few months. The other bonsai’s I bought were the Grewia, Dawn Redwood, Dwarf Hinoki Cypress, Forsythia, and Serrisa. Check out those other reviews for pics. ... show more

I love this. There was a bit of putting back together of the dirt after shipping but i think it looks great. I dusted with peat to get a dirt effect.

She's a beauty.. I'm VERY new to the bonsai game. Literally, this is my first one. I did a lot of research on bonsai trees to find out which would be best to start off. Jade arrived as expected, wrapped and taped to the high heavens, it took maybe 10 minutes to get her unboxed and the Styrofoam peanuts tickled me immensely!! All the leaves were in tact and bright green, the soil was still moist, but the top layer was shifted, (I'm sure this was done during the shipping process.) I wet the soil until it leaked through the hole at the bottom (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PEOPLE.) Then I put her on a humidity tray, rocks won't arrive until tomorrow. The instructions say water every 5-7 days, other sites say allow it to dry out some, so i figure water every 10 or so days should be sufficient. I suggest purchasing the tray, fertilizer/food, bonsai soil and river rocks in advance! I also got the little water misting bottle to mix the fertilizer and bonsai tools, though I'm not sure if I'll be using them anytime soon. The little fisherman dude was an extra perk, his fishing pole is actually wood and string! You can put water on the side where little dude is fishing, I went with water colored crystals, changing the water in this pot is going to be a job, so I'm going to repot her at the end of the month. (Google said wait until late spring/early summer.) Ok, so none of the research on actual tree types mattered since I purchased the tree because my daughter's middle name is Jade... (stop judging me!) But she's the perfect addition to my meditation area, I'm going to see how it goes, she may just get a new cousin friend in the very near future. ... show more

Ohemgee! It is absolutely adorable! I read many reviews and glad i spent just a bit more and got the Brussels Bonsai. The driver of UPS knocked on the door n handed me the box as it's cold. Be careful opening the box as its loaded with packing peanuts to stop its movement in the box. After peanuts it was in a square styrofoam base and taped to it n the pot. The soil was quite moist so no worry it dried out. In the square styro base it is also within a bag so if any soil drops it is contained in the bag. The pot is beautiful, deep blue glazed ceramic. The pot and the lil fisherman were intact with NO breakage. Even part of the fishermab is glazed, so cute.The bonsai is 6.5" in height. The leaves are a deep healthy green. As to "ease of growing" it is too early to tell. I am super pleased and excited to care for this beautiful dwarf jade. Thank you Brussels Bonsai. ... show more

On July 27th 2021 I ordered this gorgeous plant. It was delivered quite promptly on August 2nd and packaged very well. It was taped up and wrapped very well it took a long time to actually cut it out of the packaging in order to get the plant and its planter free. The planter is indeed ceramic as described mine was black but still very cute and my beautiful bonsai tree is also very beautiful and is not at all disappointing. I feel like this bonsai is an excellent value for the money and could make a great gift. I do suggest getting a humidity tray with pebbles to provide humidity for the bonsai. I do plan to get one soon but it makes a wonderful addition to my plants and it already has excellent drainage. ... show more

A New Home for this 3-yr old Dwarf Jade Bonsai! Other than the absence if the moss coveting as shown in the picture and the stones that, according to the documentation it came with, I am ULTRA-pleased with the condition. The missing items do not warrant a reduction of stars because this tree is really very healthy. I had the windows and sliding doors of my apartment affixed with UV-rays blocking and temperature-regulating film. So, there would not be bright enough sunlight for my cute little tree. To compensate, as advised by the seller in the product details, I got indoor growlights for the tree shading my Japanese fisherman companion. ... show more

I bought this as a gift for someone older who is sheltering during this Covid period, so I chose one that didn't have a lot of shape already, figuring they could work on shaping it, giving them something to tend and look forward to long term.
