Love how this assembled with no problem. My house is cold and this is solving the issue for bread rise easily. I had quit making bread as it was always a pain to try to find a warm spot. Problem solved. Love how it folds up when I am in need of a little more counter space. The case works great with it and keeps everything handy. Can’t wait to play with other bread options. We've been making bread for a long time, and this proofer was a game changer. The Proofer arrived very securely packed. Included were very complete instructions, an offer to register and get three years warranty coverage, and a very nice recipe book. I unpacked the Proofer, read the manual and per the instructions, set it up for bread making, which was so easy I felt like I must have missed something, and we started the bread making process right then and there to see how the Proofer would do. Let me say that the bread that came out of the oven was the best we'd ever made. All we could say was; WOW! it was a new and very enjoyable experience not to have to cover the bread pans with plastic wrap, and letting the water in the tray provide humidity instead, which is much better for the bread dough. To be able to look through the window on top of the Proofer to see the dough rising was a new and great experience, which also made it much easier to know when to take it out of the Proofer, and put it in the oven. Set up, operation, and take down were very very simple and easy. This is a very quality built appliance, and is a must-have for our bread making. The engineering and thought that went into this Proofer is remarkable and commendable, and very much appreciated. I've read some reviews that mentioned the cost, inferring it was a bit expensive. Our feeling is that it is worth every penny and more. As stated before, this is a fine, high quality appliance and meets the highest standards of quality build, spot-on performance, and operational ease, and great results. In short; we absolutely love this Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker, and are looking forward to trying some of it's other culinary capabilities. This is great for bread in the winter when the kitchen is cold. Also allows you to proof and bulk ferment without covering the dough as the box is an isolated atmosphere- keeps cling wrap from sticking to the dough. A bit expensive, but as we make a ton of bread- usually at least weekly- it has been a wonderful addition to the kitchen. It folds down to a good flat size- only problem is the cord doesn't store inside the machine- keep it on top. ... show more

I debated quite a while before I chose to shell out the coin for this proofer. I make quite a bit of bread but live up North and it gets cold, our house is apparently colder than most and that, in turn, makes getting a good rise difficult. It can be done but it takes 3 times longer than most recipes state. This proofer is almost a requirement for us North folk. It stays a consistent temperature that allows for a nice rise in a decent time frame. It is easy to assemble, though I do worry about it breaking. The plastic is a bit thin so gentle treatment is required. It is very simple to work. Unfold it, set the pan of water in, set the rack down, place bread in, set the lid down and then turn it on and pick the temp you wish. I do not care for the plug in being on the front, its somewhat awkward, but not hard to work around. It folds flat for storage, which is handy. The book, rack and pan set in it but the cord, does not, not easily anyway. So if you are not an organized person, there is always a chance to misplace the cord. I have not tried it for fermenting or making yogurt yet, but when my cow is back in milk, I am looking forward to using it for good homemade yogurt. Considering the consistent temp, it should do well on that front. The only major complaint I have, aside from the weird plug in placement, is the size. If you make cinnamon rolls or something that utilizes a 9x13" pan, if the pan has handles, it will not set nicely in the box. It ends up bowing the sides out. So most cake pans are not a good fit. If the pan does not have handles, it sets in decently, however. Same goes for if you are making rolls, most cookie sheets have a handle and that makes it almost too big to fit in the box. In my opinion, the box should be maybe an inch or so larger to accommodate handled pans. Overall, I think it is an excellent proofer. It has been a game changer for me as far as getting a nice fluffy loaf of bread, which in turn, makes for a happy family. ... show more

After watching The Great British Baking show, I had oven envy… I wanted, no needed, a proofing drawer; but the stoves that had built in proofing drawers were far, far, out of my price range. So I bought this. I frankly didn’t expect much, actually figured it would be living at Goodwill within a couple of months, but was worth a try! It’s Fabulous! Ok, it’s just a little plastic box , but; it’s well made, everything fits nicely and best of all it works! I’m a baked and was so tired of hunting around the house for a suitable warm place for my bread to rise. I was never sure if the slow rise was due to me having killed the yeast, or the bread not being in a place that was warm and cosy enough. Now my bread rises reliably and yeast baking is much less fraught. I give this a 10. ... show more
