  • It’s big
Color: Black
I’ve never owned one, so it’s a new experience. Out of box, I found some missing screws and a metal piece was a bit bent with holes that didn’t align well. That said, with a little force and screws I had in the shop….it took about an hour to get this thing up and it’s big. Like what you would find at an outdoor restaurant area. Was hard to find a space (inside storage) so it wouldn’t rust during summer. Everything rusts in Florida. Broke down the top. Waiting for winter to really give it a go. Looks commercial grade, I don’t expect any issues. ... show more

  • Good heater but not complete and not quite ready for production.
Color: Black
I really needed one of these Patio heaters and was glad to have found this one. I open the box and laid everything out. It appeared that everything was there so I started the assembly. The very first step was to bolt on the wheels and hold down brackets and the first problem was they forgot to drill any of the holes for this step. Upon closer inspection (I am in the assembly business) I saw the whole outer surface was dented. This is the main 'show' surface of this part, so I assume the plant saw this and decided to scrap it but someone else finished the rest of the subassembly, skipping that step. In any case, I had a decision to make right then and there. Do I pack up and send it back or continue? Note: It is January in Michigan. It is -1 degree Fahrenheit. I have a ton of work to do outside. I can easily drill my own holes for this. I decided to continue. The rest of the build went fine. Instructions are perfect. No issues with them. It literally took me longer to peel off the protective film than the whole rest of the assembly. In total about 1/2 hour. As you can see from the picture of the unboxed items, there seems to be a lot but it's fairly straight forward and the alignment of the holes that they did put in was very good. That said, when you have the 3 support bars on, take the time to eyeball there alignment as you tighten the bolts. There is quite a bit of tolerance and can affect the sliding on of the cover which is the the next step. The actual burner unit was perfect and operated without any issues. The picture of the heat-on was only about 15 seconds and you need to hold the knob down for 10 seconds to warm it up so the auto switch doesn't shut it down. That, I believe is standard on all of these type of heaters. Note: the protective film stays on during the rolling of the edges so it is impossible to remove all of it under the edge bead. For this reason there will be a bad smell for the first 5 or 10 minutes of operation. It is outside so, not really a big issue. There was one of the small washers missing and when I was searching my parts bins for a replacement I found a coin that I got on one of my trips to China. I couldn't resist using it to create a conversation accent to my new heater. :) Pros: Excellent heat. Easy to assemble Easy to move around once the wheels are installed. Cons: Higher price than competing heater with the same output. (update: they quickly brought the price down to be comparable to others). Factory still working out assembly issues so check all parts first. I do like this heater but hope they fix there current issues. Update: I have been using this for a few weeks now. Yes, it had some minor issues but I like it. I hope this review was helpful ... show more

  • Assembly takes a few mins but puts off good heat
Color: Black
I live in Tennessee but it can still get cold in the winter so I've been looking for some sort of propane heater that would let us still be outside. This one has been working nicely for being able to still hang out on the porch. Assembly was a little fiddly and it wouldn't hurt to have two people but I managed myself. For how tall it is I thing it's reasonably sturdy. In any case I pull it around a corner to be out of any wind as I don't want to permanently bolt it down. If you're thinking the same make sure to plan ahead as all the stainless on this is very thin and tipping over will do noticeable damage. In use it puts out a LOT of heat and the reflector does a good job of directing it down. I was able to sit comfortably in a rocking chair on a day it snowed. I won't go as far to say "cozy" but I could sit for a while. Once you're standing it's of course better but the top half of your body will get quite toasty. Getting it lit isn't particularly difficult but will take a few tries to get right. You need to hold the knob in as you're trying to light it. I like how the bottom tank cover has a hole in it so you can easily reach in to turn off the gas without lifting it. In the future I might go for a smaller one more designed for sitting but this one works well. ... show more

  • Wonderful heat level
Color: Black
This propane heater is great. It provides a decent level of heat for the size. I've used multiple propane heaters and this one is very comparable. In all situations you have to be somewhat close to the flame in order to feel direct heat, but this also gives out a fair amount of radiant heat. The cover guard at the top stays on well. This is easy to light and operate. There are some generic covers for the winter that fit well on this propane heater. ... show more

  • Very mid-line
Color: Black
I think it goes without saying this wasn't ready to go straight out of the box. My Dad is a bit of a handyman, so we were able to figure things out after two runs to the hardware store, but now that it's up and running we're quite happy. My main reason for knocking off a star is the base just wasn't as stable as I'd hoped. The unit as a whole is much more lightweight than I expected, but the base also doesn't sit properly on concrete. We threw a rubber sheet in between it to balance things out. The heat output it great, aesthetic is decent as well - a little rough around the edges. ... show more

  • Not as solid as expected
Color: Black
What I like: It puts out good heat quiet operation functions properly relatively straightforward assembly directions What I like less: There are anchor spots on the base - would work well on wood or maybe ground, but not as stable on concrete. base arrived bent (see photos) Hesitant to leave it outside with any wind until we get a more secure system Bottom line - this thing cranks out the heat and looks nice. Need to work on securing/stabilizing ... show more
