  • There are two ways to install our brine shrimp hatcher machine. You can use the four suction cup of shrimp incubator to stick it to the tank glass inside or you wanna install it out of the tank glass then you can use the tripod to install out of the tank.

When the brine shrimp has hatched, open the trim valve at the bottom of the incubator to collect brine shrimp. Note that the direction of the inlet and outlet of the check valve must be installed correctly with the pipe, otherwise the air pump will not be able to discharge air.
  • If you use the first way to install the brine shrimp incubator,Please remember to use a scissor to cut one piece small tubing like 0.5 Inch long in the product package to connect the gray acrylic tube and air stone and cut the other small tubing 0.5 Inch in the product package to connect the gray acrylic tube and lid. Please note that gray acrylic tube is not able to connect to air stone and lid directly, which need two small piece tubing to connect air stone and lid.
  • The second way to provide oxygen to the brine shrimp from the bottom hole of the incubator. Please note the direction of the inlet and outlet of the check valve and the pipe must be installed correctly, otherwise the air pump will not be able to output air, and the trim valve needs to be opened. When the brine shrimp has hatched, first turn off the trim valve, then pull out the air pump tube from the trim valve, and then open the trim valve to start collecting brine shrimp

  • Pretty good
Not bad for the money, definitely slim and low profile which at first I was worried about, but it’s been working really well, the air pump is better than I expected. My only issue was the check valve, no matter what no air was getting through the check valve so I had to remove that. Besides that it’s pretty good for the price. ... show more

  • It works, but...
This will hatch brine shrimp, but. To start off I will say that this is the second I have bought. I liked the first one enough, and I have enough of a need of BBS to need two hatcheries. The first I used all hose that I had purchased myself, and it's a good thing for this seller. The first one I bought was clearly used. The tube was dirty and had salt residue on it. The pipettes were all smashed, the suction cups were all smashed and in now way ever going to work. There was no instructions included with the first. In the meantime we bought another pack of pipettes and everything was ok. So I buy another. The second one arrives, not used, pipettes not damaged, suction cups in working order. So I set it all up with the included hose. I tee off the original air line (Really no use to use two pumps) and get everything running. Later that day I went to check my first hatchery and notice that the air isn't working in either. I find that the air hose provided has slipped off the tee. I reattach it and go on with my day. I go out later and again, the air line (The one supplied) has slipped off the tee. At this point my 2 batches of BBS are both dead. I reattach the hose, and zip tie it on. Reset up both with new water, salt and eggs, and go to bed. In the morning again, it has slipped off the tee. At this point I realize the hose is not of high enough quality to withstand a 10 degree temp change and remain on the tee. I swap out the supplied hose with that super high quality $5 per 25 feet of store bought hose. Get both hatcheries cleaned out of dead BBS and eggs, and remake the water\salt\egg combo. Throughout the day yesterday everything is great. No hoses coming off. I get up this morning and what do you know, the air hose from the valve to the very top of the hatchery (2 inches of air line) has slipped off... Again, the supplied hose is garbage. Another batch (possibly 2) of BBS is dead. Thankfully my fry is big enough that it has been eating flake food, or at this point I would have had 250 baby Gourami dead. The hatchery and air pump seem to be fine. But the hose is complete garbage. If this company is trying to save money by skimping on what has to be the least expensive part it is very sad. The hatchery comes supplied with 2 types of hose, and about 30 feet total. It needs about 4 inches to go from the valve to the bottom, and the inside to the solid tube. Depending on where you were to place this it may take 5 feet to get from the air pump to the hatchery. If they were to buy good quality hose in bulk it couldn't possibly increase the bottom line too much. My bottom line on this product is the hatchery is good. It works, but do yourself a favor and just toss the supplied hose right in the bin. ... show more

  • Works, but with a flaw.
My students were working on a brine shrimp lab and I’ve never used a hatchery before. Always just a beaker or flask with no aeration or temperature control. I purchased this to compare “ideal” conditions with my regular set up. Hatching occurred a day faster in this compared to a beaker, which I attribute to the aeration. I connected the air at the bottom of the chamber. The flaw is in the tubing. The clear tube would not connect at all, wrong diameter. I ended up using only the black tubing in my set up. The tubing continuously came disconnected at the pump. I’d suggest getting some good tubing if you are going to do a lot of brine shrimp hatching. ... show more

  • It works
I have dwarf seahorses and hatch my own brine. I tried the black hatchery with no air pump and the return is “eh”. I used this and I would say the hatch rate is around 70% which is ok. The automatic feeders are super useful. I fill them up once a day and let it do it’s thing. Buying a second one to have them alternating and harvesting every other day. I will say cleaning this thing is kind of a pain. I let water run through the bottom tube for a few minutes to make sure the unhatched eggs are rinsed out so I don’t get any clogs. ... show more

  • basic, but cheap finishing
it is a good solution to hatch brimeshrimp in a small footprint within your aquarium. However, the finishing is pretty cheap. The connection for air bubbler is not fully thought through, and the connection to the hose up top should have been a tad longer to have a better grip. got disconnected twice already I think there are better options out there. ... show more

  • Easy set up, organized, simple
Didn’t come with clear instructions but Was easy to figure out how to put together. Love how organized it is. Price is worth it if you value space saving and simplicity. Clean up: mild. Hard to detach from the pump to get it rinsed off. So if you don’t mind yanking the tube off every time you need to clean, then no problem. I didn’t use the air pump provided. I used my own. Does not come with salt or eggs. Currently Have eggs incubating. If they don’t hatch, I’m not blaming the tube incubator. I’ll blame my ratio. ... show more
