I use this around the entrance to my chicken yard so that it is lit all night long and it works fabulously! It is nice and bright and the solar charges it so that it shines all night. They provide a lot of light considering they are solar powered and they last a pretty long time. They won’t make it through the entire night but they will last through the majority of it. Not having to worry about batteries or plugging it in makes installation much easier and adaptable to your situation. UPDATE: I bought these thinking they were exactly the same as the ones I purchased from this company. Disappointedly, they are not. The “filament” is a different shape, long and rectangle. It looks cheap. They only last about 5 hours, if that. This is stated in the description. I missed it as I mistakenly assumed they were like the former version which lasted from dusk to dawn. PRIOR COMMENTS BASED ON ORIGINAL LIGHT STRING: I’m in AZ. There is plenty of sunshine and these lights are bright and long lasting. They just died after 2 1/2 years of continuous use. I looked to see if there was a battery that needs to be replaced. It appears not and they must be replaced all together. I try to limit disposable items but I was so pleased with these, I will be purchasing replacements. ... show more
