Good kit. Good to add Whirlfloc tablet for clearing. Excellent easy kit. tastes pretty good. Yielded 1.040. Could use a little more DME. Otherwise excellent kit. Yeast was a little small. So I added 1 pack of Nottingham yeast.

I brewed this and it came out very good. My one word of warning is that it is an English style pale ale - the closest beer I can think to compare it too is probably an Old Speckled Hen. As a British Expat living in the states, I should have known it wouldn't be as light and hop-forward as an American Pale Ale, but I was very happy that it came out to be a good, relatively light but flavor packed sessionable English pub bitter. ... show more

Taste is not great. It gives me a headache. The recipe and the kit itself are good but I won’t buy this one again, I’ll go for the IPA.

Really like the simplicity of this kit...but can only give 4stars because I personally prefer the flowers hops to pellets...and there is only 1 pack of yeast which for me this time worked well but I have had in the past my yeast not really work and needed a extra pack ..a beginner may not have the luxury of more yeast on hand... ... show more

Brewers Best kits are great. If you're just starting to brew, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow and all ingredients are clearly labeled and premeasured. If you're an experienced brewer, you can always change the recipe by adding something to make it your own.
