  • excellent quality converter kit!
Color: Upgrade
I'm installing this on my Coleman Mini-bike CT200U-EX it has a 196cc engine. An issue with it is my engine has a 5/8" crank shaft, I had to get a sleeve adapter, no problem, I made it fit correctly with a little dremel tool, sanding of the inside diameter. The bigger issue I had was with the threaded bolt size at the end of the crankshaft. The engine torque converter has some weight to it & a decent sized bolt needs to secure it to the crankshaft. A 6mm bolt it not big enough to secure the clutch! To utilize bolt provided with the Bravex Kit I had to drill the ID of the crankshaft & Tap new a new thread size for the 5/16-24 x 2/-1/4" long bolt to secure it. Some people don like these sleeve adapters if you look on YouTube, I think it will work out fine, your only other option is to change the crank shaft or a new engine. A new crank is probably at least 75 bucks, a new predator engine is $100 at harbor freight. I did other modifications to this bike, better muffler, removed the governor internally, new throttle set-up I'm gonna run the stock carb & filter for now, see how it works out. I cant wait to ride the mini bike with this new converter, I think its gonna be great! ... show more

  • Awesome!
Very pleased with this TC! Parts were all included and packaged with care. Installation directions were clear. I also like that this comes with a 2-year warranty from the manufacturer. Only issue is that the fasteners it comes with are metric and will not bolt up to a Tecumseh or older Briggs engine, so had to run to the hardware store for 5/16-24 bolts and washers. ... show more

  • Very responsive performance, Big improvement over c-clutch.
Color: Upgrade
I used this t-converter when I replaced my grandkid's crappy Chinese engine with a Honda clone 212cc Predator from Harbor Freight. Attached are the before and after photos. Prior to the rebuild I never got 2 hours of run time before one of my grand kids would complain about something breaking or how they could not start the stupid thing. Now with this torque converter and a simple pull start engine this thing runs like a top and has tons of low end. Great product, easy to install too.. I added (2) threaded pins to replace the screws on the lower part of the cover to make it easier to remove for service but that has nothing to do with the review. ... show more

  • Torque converter okay, cover worthless. Not even designed to work.
Color: Upgrade
I have to say the cover is the most worthless item. Cannot be used if you use a drive chain or a belt. It's not designed to go on with the drive unit to the drive shaft. Now how stupid is that.

  • Driven Unit fail
Color: Upgrade
Bought this unit to be used on a stock Predator engine for my kids go kart. Unit was semi easy to install with a few minor modifications needed to the mounting plate so it didn't hit the engine mounting plate on the kart. However, after minimal driving over the course of a weekend we chewed through 2 belts. Upon inspection it seems the rivets holding the main spring assembly to the outer plate were not installed correctly, and never flattened down. Causing the rivets to pop out of the holes and the plate to spin once the belt started to turn. Then the rivets would catch on plates holes and it would finally engage, but when you let off the gas the belt would get stuck because the driver unit wasn't working properly. Update...26Feb2019, after my review I was contacted with in a few days by customer service and I explained the issue to them. With out hesitation they promptly corrected the situation by sending me a new complete assembly with in a few days. I have not installed it on our go cart yet to give it a test run. But I will say this, their customer service definitely gets an A+ from me. I will update my review again after I get the new one installed and take it for a test ride. ... show more

  • Major power gains over a clutch, but very noisy.
Color: Upgrade
I love the power this thing puts to the wheel on my Coleman CT200 paired with a Tillotson aftermarket motor compared to the plain clutch it came with but this thing rattles and clinks very loudly while at idle. My brother's more expensive torque convertor is silent at idle, so if you care about your project sounding good and not cheap/rackety spend the extra 30-50 bucks on a better TC. Also seems very reliable since the motor I have is a stage 1 torque monster rated way above a normal Predator engine yet this TC handles the power just fine. ... show more

  • Garbage
Color: Upgrade
Once it was installed it dragged so bad you can't hardly push the mini bike. It sounds like the rear bearing is going to tear itself apart. I wish I would have just spent a little more money and got a good one. The very first ride it stranded me and the bearing went out in the back shaft.

  • Best upgrade for ct200u!
Color: Upgrade
Put it on a 2yr old Coleman ct200u that's been ridden enough the back tire is nearly bald. With the stock clutch, I could cruise around at about 23 mph (I weigh 205 and my daughter weighs 35, so about 240lb load), to 37mph! I have done no other modifications to the bike. Newer ct200u models have a5/8 jackshaft. You need to get a 5/8 to 3/4 shaft adapter and you need an M6x50mm hex bolt from the hardware store. You will also need to lift the engine about an inch (I needed a total of 80 washers, 4 3/4x3" bolts and nuts). All in all, I'm in $110 for a 50% increase in top speed! I'll update if this thing breaks, I finished installing it this morning and only road about a1/2 mile before I had to go to work. ... show more
