This bread box was perfect. Nice matte black finish, spacious, wipes easy, light weight.. nothing but bread was stored.. went to close it this AM and the door came off the hinges...flip it over and the joint (if you will) completely crumbled...for no reason what's so ever... I'm upset as I am stuck with having to gorilla glue and hope I can salvage it. =o( ... show more

I love my new breadbox. It's so roomy and easily stores all of my bakery items. I like that it has a flat surface on top that's large enough to store my Costco croissants on. The way my old breadbox was designed, every time the door was lifted up, it would squish everything that was inside. That is no longer an issue because this one opens outwardly. I also love the magnetic closure. It would be nice if the metal was a bit thicker, but I don't think it will be an issue at all. It arrived in perfect condition without any dents. This breadbox came broken which was no surprise considering how cheap the material is. It looks nice and is a good size but it is cheaply made. I was actually okay with that since it was only going on top of my refrigerator but the door was dented and fell off when I opened it. If it was packed better for shipping, this may not have happened. I bought this as "used - like new" and it arrived with the box in tact but the item badly dented (see photo). I've always thought of Brabantia as a nice / substantial brand with well made products. This truly feels flimsy / light / cheap. I may be reordering it as it's the only black breadbox with a front opening flap like this, which is what I need in my space, but I do wish it was a more sturdy box. 2 stars because it's nice looking and I like the functionality. ... show more
