These small jars keep my pipe tobacco in good condition. The window is nice for seeing the level, but the matte black aesthetic is very nice. The locking/ratcheting lid is perfect, and definitely keeps the smell of the tobacco inside, which suggests that the tobacco is kept airtight.

You can smell anything in it. I should have listened to the other reviews. If you can smell it, it means it’s also not airtight. I even tried to put silicone in the lid for a better seal and still didn’t work. Too bad I threw the packaging away and I’m now stuck with it. False advertising.
