Description

Get hot water where it's needed, when it's needed with the Bosch ES4 Tronic 3000 T electric water heater. This 4-gallon capacity point- of-use mini-tank fits right under your sink and provides a practical and effective solution to your hot water needs. This smaller model can be plugged right into a 120-volt outlet, or can be installed in-line with a larger hot water source to provide "on-demand" use. The glass-lined tank offers great insulation and added durability, while the heater's fast recovery rate eliminates long waits for hot water. An external dial allows you to easily control the temperature range, and the temperature-and-pressure relief valve enhances your safety. The ES4 Tronic 3000 T from Bosch has a sleek and attractive exterior design that blends in seamlessly with existing décor when installed in a visible location, making this heater a great option in any room. Water Heater measures 13.75" H x 13.75" L x 13.5" D and weighs 17.3 lbs. Troubleshoot: (1) Leaking- Check water fittings and T & P fitting on top of tank Remove front cover and inspect heating element gasket If tank is leaking call Bosch Water Heating for warranty claim if still within warranty period Check anode rod (see section on changing the anode rod) (2) Water does not get hot- Make sure the power supply is on and working If the indicator light works properly but temperature does not get hot at the tap, test for a plumbing crossover; shut off cold supply to heater and open hot water tap. There should be no water flowing. Any continued flow indicates a crossover which will effect the temperature and will need to be corrected Call a qualified service technician to test the resistance of the heating element (8-10 ohms). Heating element should be replaced if readings are outside these values. Other troubleshoot solutions are available on user manual Pg-11. Manufacturer Contact Information

  • Giant performance, versatile, little, and efficient gem of a water heater!
Size: 7 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
This little gem is awesome. It’s very efficient, easy to install and is just right for the minimalist or efficient person. I have the 7gal model and with a water restriction and high efficiency shower head; getting 7:20 minutes of HOT water. After which point it’ll still run comfortably warm up till 12:30 minutes. I put that little stainless steel pause/flow restrictive between slicker and shower head. On 30*degree days where the water going into heater is frigid I pause the flow while soaping up and then on again to rinse and enjoy. With 30* water going in and this unit turned 3/4 the way up it’ll give you HOT water down from normal 7:20 to about 6:00. So it’s plenty capable of running a normal shower without stopping or starting. I just don’t like over stressing unit. If such a thing is possible. If you need more than 10minutes or just “need” to stand under hot water for along time then this is not for you. It’s also been plenty capable of running sinks and dishwashers. I disconnected my 50gal water heater and have this in place so not using as a point source as is intended and it still works wonderfully even after running long distances of pipes. The thermostat is great and so easy to use. In hot Weather I turn down to below ideal setting and dead of winter now I have it a bit above ideal but never had to go close to max temp setting. I wanted to wait a couple of months to see How it fairs before writing a review, but yeah. It’s amazing!! when I move out this is going in my van that is a converted mobile home, it’s that convenient, small, efficient, and very very lightweight without water. I definitely recommend It but will update at year one as it’s only been a couple of months. I recommend and am going to put an inline water filter in place as mineral deposition is the only thing that could reek havoc long term on inside and heating element. Then should last along time..! ... show more

  • Great Improvement To My Kitchen. Just Be Sure To Check The Size
Size: 4 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
This 4 gallon mini-tank heater is perfect for my kitchen. The total cost for the tank and the installation was about $325.00—higher in my case because the tank did not quite fit under the sink and I had to move it to a cabinet 6 feet away, on the other side of the dishwasher. This added the cost of two 6 foot hoses, two brass connectors, and a 12 guage extension cord. The normal cost would be under $300. I opted to abandon the hot water at the sink and run only cold water into the mini-tank. This way, running hot water in the sink never impacts my gas water heater. The downside is that I can run out of hot water at the sink, if I use too much at once, but the upside is that it saves a lot more energy and water. By turning up the temperature on the Bosch to ¾, I have eliminated the chance of running out for my own needs. My sink is located about 30 feet from my water heater, which is actually more like 40’ of piping. It was taking a good 30 seconds to get hot water every time, and I started collecting the 2 gallons of wasted cold water for my outdoor garden. Now the hot is basically instant. Because of the unusual 6’ distance, it takes one second to get hot water. If it were under the sink it would be quicker. Installation was quite easy. Even with this less desirable location, the hoses and extension cord passed easily behind the dishwasher. I did it myself, no plumber or electrician required. Why not get a demand water heater for the kitchen sink? Money. Any demand water heater you buy will require a new, dedicated electrical line with a dedicated breaker. This will easily cost you $1500 or more for the electrician to install it. A demand water heater retrofit really only makes sense if you are replacing your main water heater, and in my case, I would STILL want my mini-tank, because the distance problem would not be solved. It would make some sense to have a demand water heater installed at the sink for NEW HOME construction, but the retrofit is far too expensive to justify. Now that I have converted my sink hot water usage from gas to electric, I can start working on converting to solar. Get this mini-tank. It will save you water and energy, even if you connect it to the hot water line. What you will need for a standard, under-the-sink installation: 2 ½”npt to 3/8” compression hoses, 2’ long 1 3/8” compression tee 1 3/8” female to female connector (male on both ends) Aluminum water heater pan You will use the connector to connect the 2’long 3/8” hose to the hot water hose for the sink tap. For my installation, I used the following: 2 ½” npt to 3/8” compression hoses, 1’ long 2 3/8” dishwasher supply hoses, 6’ long 3 3/8” female to female connectors, two to connect the 1’ hoses to the 6’ hoses, 1 3/8” compression tee 1 12 gauge extension cord, 8’ long Aluminum water heater pan Depending on your kitchen and location, you may want to plumb a PVC pipe into the over-pressure valve and either to a floor drain or to the outside. My kitchen has waterproof tile floors, so I can take a chance on an overflow filling the drain pan and spilling out onto the kitchen floor. I can just mop it up. I connected the 6’ DW supply hoses to the 1’ hoses. It was the easiest way to get the long 3/8” compression hoses to connect to the ½” npt connections at the water heater. Oh also, you need a good flashlight or headlamp, and a couple of pairs of adjustable spanners (small crescent wrenches). Note: Technically, you will need an electrician to install the 7 gallon version, but it does not require a new or dedicated circuit, as it still only pulls 12 amps. If you are comfortable connecting the electrical line into your existing box, you will be OK. Add a little cost for connectors or possibly a larger electrical box. In some municipalities, you may need a permit and inspection because this may qualify as adding an electrical circuit. The 7 gallon would be nice, but it also takes longer for the tank to heat and takes up more room. All good products though. I updated this on 3/19/2022 to correct some typos. ... show more
