  • Great Lumber Racks
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
Installed these to hold stacks of mahogany lumber for an antique wooded boat restoration. They were easy to install into the studs and held a surprising weight of lumber. Easily handled 250+ LBS of 12' lumber. Installed 4 racks, 32" OC.

  • Good product. Bad listing.
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
Order some lag screws when you order these, or run down to the hardware store and pick some up while waiting for the shipment to arrive. Contrary to the listing (in two places), all needed hardware is NOT included. I had to stop in the middle of my install to go buy some screws. Knocking off a star for the inaccurate listing. My installation is drywall over studs so I ended up using 1/4 X 4 timber screws. They are a bit more expensive then lag bolts but have a slightly more aggressive thread and are black so look good with the uprights. I would not go with 3" screws as recommended for a drywall install since this leaves very little of the screw in the stud. I got two sets of these and wanted to make sure all four uprights were precisely positioned relative to each other. Naturally, I made a jig and maybe describing it will make the install easier for others. First, I held a piece of 1/4 x 3" x 4' cutoff against the ceiling along a vertical level line and marked where I wanted the low end of the rack. I then used some #8 wood screws to attach one of the uprights to the wood with about 1/4" of screw sticking out the back. After locating a stud and marking a vertical level line, I held the jig against the ceiling with the screw points on the line and tapped it with a hammer to mark the holes. The marks don't have to be right on the line, just close enough to use as a reference. Then I drilled through the line at the same height as the reference marks. It took only about 10 minutes to find all the studs, mark, and drill all the uprights. The install checked out as perfectly level across all four bars. This was so much easier than trying to place the holes by measuring that I'd use a jig even if I had only two uprights to install. Because the horizontal bars fit around the upright, spacers are needed to hold the uprights away from the wall. These are round and indented in the front to hold them in line with the upright post. I found that the spacers have a habit of turning with the screw and if they get wedged out of alignment you have to back the screws out, line the spacers up and start over. Unless you have tiny fingers holding the spacers in alignment while tightening the screws is not an option. My solution was to thread the screws through the uprights, then slip the spacesr over the screws and attach them to the post with a small dot of CA glue for each. This not only kept the spacers aligned but also kept the screws from falling out. After installation I loaded them up with several 10-ft 2x6 & 2x4, plus some 6-ft pieces of the same, as well as all my long pieces of rough-sawn hardwoods, and a bunch of molding. The racks took everything I had to throw at them with no creaking under the weight and no visible flexing of the components. I'm very happy with the design and performance of the racks and would happily bump to 5 stars if I ever notice the listing corrected to state *prominently* that the buyer must supply mounting hardware. ... show more

  • Space Saving, But Smaller Than Expected
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
Excellent method to tame your scrap stockpile. I am sure they match the dimensions provided, but they seem smaller than expected once they arrived. In any case, they are well made, easy to install, and provide a lot of storage for their size.

  • Great Wood Rack!
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
This is a sturdy wood rack. It is also very easy to assemble and install. I used 5/16" x 4" structural washer head screws in order to mount the steel vertical brackets to the framing studs. The holes in the steel mounting brackets, and the round plastic spacers, needed to be drilled out 1/16" larger in order to to accommodate the 5/16" screws, since the holes are only 1/4", but the larger screws worked great for more structural support. It took about 30 minutes total to assemble and install the wood rack. The instructions recommend 1/4" x 3" lag screws, but I wanted something a little stronger, so I used larger screws. By the time the mounting screws go through the 1" vertical steel bar, the 5/8" plastic spacer and 1/2 " to 3/4" sheetrock, they are going to need some real length in order to sink far enough into a 1-1/2" × 3-1/2" framing stud. I mounted the vertical brackets 5 feet apart, so they hold 6 foot and 8 foot long lumber perfectly. Any shorter lumber can just be placed on top of the longer lumber. The weakest point of the wood rack seems to be the little sheet metal screws that hold the horizontal shelf brackets in place, but so far they are holding well. If you have some lumber that you need to get up off of the floor and organized, then I highly recommend this sturdy wood rack. ... show more

  • Another one that has clearly been opened and contains no hardware!
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
UPDATE: I’ve raised my star by one because I spoke to Bora over chat and they are sending me a new one, making it easy. I think they are a good company but Amazon has their own warehouses and is not checking returns before being sent out again. Bora is aware of the issue. ———————-//—————————————- I’ve been looking at a lot of Bora’s products but this does not fill me with confidence. As other reviewers have stated, this rack arrived in a damaged package that had clearly been opened before. That I can live with. I could even deal with the fact that there are no screws, but no spacers?! Come on do you guys even open these to inspect for damage when you get them back? ... show more

  • Good product. Instructions are incorrect.
Color: Orange and Gray Size: 4-Level Pattern Name: Organizer
The first product I received was clearly open box, and I returned it in part because I thought it was missing some mounting hardware. The instructions said there should be six screws + standoffs, but the product came with only 4. The problem however was not that the hardware was lost by the previous buyer. The instructions incorrectly state that the four bar product should have three screws per side, but if you actually unpack the product, there are only two holes per side, so 4 screws is in fact the correct number. ... show more
