While I have a great, rugged, stylish backpack that I've been using as a work commuter bag for the last couple of years, I've noticed since recently becoming a parent that -- if the kid's not involved -- I don't need to carry very many things. As such, I was looking for a stylish, ultra-thin backpack for commuting that would feel at home among my fancier bags. I also had just gotten a 16" MacBook Pro, so it needed to fit one of those comfortably. Given the price, I had pretty low expectations of this bag, but I've really grown to love it! The bag perfectly distributes the weight from my laptop, making it seem much lighter than it actually is. The empty backpack weighs next to nothing. The bag is also pretty nondescript, and I decided to accent mine with a black Apple logo pin in the center of the outside pocket. The combo looks so nice that I've had multiple people asking me where they can buy that "Apple backpack." I bet a bag like this with a nice company pin on the outside would make a great conference or workshop welcoming gift. The bag also has thoughtful touches like sliding clips to retain the excess shoulder strap tail, a hidden anti-theft pocket on the back of the bag (and your back) that's just big enough to hold my Kindle Oasis, and plasticky, easy-to-pull zippers. It's clearly designed by people who know what people want in a bag. My only criticism after using it for nearly a month is that the inside of the bag would be nicer if it were soft, or it at least had soft accents. I got the leather version. I had to get it exchanged because the first bag came with a zipper that got stuck (and a few reviews had mentioned that the zipper broke). The second bag’s zipper was much better, but it had a scuff or two at the bottom. Nevertheless, I kept the second bag because the scuffs weren’t really noticeable. After all, no one wants to go through more than one exchange, even if they make the process easy … you just kind of want your bag. The bag is very lightweight. It will easily fit a 15” laptop in the padded area. The drop protection is a great plus. It’a full of pockets, some hidden, and they’re designed to not be bulky. This is not the kind of bag you can overstuff. It’s good for taking the minimum essentials around and protecting your laptop. The water bottle compartment can probably fit a 16 oz plastic water bottle, but nothing bigger. The front pockets are rather deep … but I’m not sure what you’d put in the front center one because that depth will make getting things out hard (it just opens on the top). I’ll probably use the main pocket the most. It does come with a set up for you to charge your phone … you just need to put in a power bank and the phone cable. It’s pretty cool that it has a USB-C port; you don’t find that easily. For the price, plus the sale I got it on, I definitely recommend this bag. Other comparable bags are easily more expensive and may not even have the drop protection or be leather. Aside from the scuffs, I’m satisfied with my purchase. ... show more
