I have purchased a LOT of glass files over these years, and these are my favorites. Well made, easy to clean with warm soapy water and allowed to air dry. Some less expensive ones have a tendency to lose the "glass" over time and wear. Comes in a case to protect it from bumping around in a purse or cabinet/drawer. Does a great job of smoothing the edges of my nail without causing splitting like the old sandpaper design did (which, by the way, some of us used for years and didn't know any better!) I take extreme care not to drop these, I don't know if they would break if they hit a hardwood or ceramic floor. Typically I am seated on a couch or at a table with something to break the fall if it does slip. And I have dropped them in that scenario without one break or crack. I have gifted these many, many times, and all of my female (and male) friends and family members LOVE them as well. Well worth the price, it is an investment that you'll have for the long run unless of course you lose it or break it. Plus it helps keep your nails healthy. Win Win IMO. ... show more

These are the perfect files. Sure, they might be more costly, but they are worth it. These are also more slim than other files (similar to even more costly OPY), which makes them more susceptible to breakage, so be gentle with these. I like how they are not as thick as other files, because I can get closer to under the nail than with bulkier glass files. The etching is perfect for both fingernails and toenails. All you have to do is wash them in mild soap and water and they are ready to go again. The file comes in a protective case, but the case is so tight that I feel I will break the file when I try to get it out of the case. The case is nice, but I don't use it. This is a really high quality file! I've had other glass files in the past and this one has an incredible grit and I appreciate that it is double sided. It is also very convenient to have the pointed edge for cleaning under nails. I wasn't sure about how large that part was going to be, but it has proven very useful. The case however, seems really cheap, but it holds the file no problem and protects it, which I guess is something I need because I had to buy this one after my previous glass file broke during travel! ... show more

I purchased 3 of these nail files bc they are, for lack of a better word, "sharp" nail file that files down my nails quickly and effortlessly. They come in their own case which protects the nail file, when storing in your purse or drawer. I recommend these. I bought 2 of these, red for me and turquoise for my daughter over 4 years ago! I love the fact that the file is easy on your nails but still easily removes excess nail on your fingers and your toes. Tough nails are no problem for this little gem. The file itself is made out of glass, but the matching case is made out of plastic. The bottom half of the case has held up fine in my bedside table drawer, but I dropped the top half years ago and the cats were kind enough to hide it from me. Otherwise I'd report on the whole case. Because the file "grit" is so fine, I even like to use it to file down dead cuticle before it becomes a hangnail. It smooths the hard skin on the sides of the nails as well. I can't keep polish on my fingernails for more than a few days, so I usually just finish my mani-pedi with my favorite lotion to help add moisture to the nails and my thirsty skin. I find it makes my nails stronger and they don't break as often. The only "con" that my daughter and I agreed on was the thickness of the file itself. I've dropped mine countless times on the hardwood floor and never had it chip or break. It's thin in appearance but the tip of the nail is not sharp enough to get the layer of dirt under the nail, right next to the nail bed. That's why I only gave it 4 stars, but it's not stopping me enough from buying another one because my tough nails have finally worn the file down. When ordering my replacement I found out they also have a cuticle pusher, which I just ordered several of for my daughter and myself, and a really nice nail grooming kit that includes a glass file for smoothing and removing the calluses from your feet, and other nail care items, that I purchased as a gift for my son, who has size 15 feet and needs extra help to keep his feet comfortable. All within the same brand! Visit the store to see other available items and colors. If I had a chance to change anything, it would be matching sets of nail files and cuticle pushers. I'd definitely buy several, for the bedroom, purse, car, work, etc. They make excellent gifts for the people you care about! ... show more

My finger nails have always been thin, soft, and brittle. They crack, peel and split. I have tried every type of file out there with terrible results. After trying to gently smooth the rough edges I end up with more ragged edges that require I stroke across my nail edge to remove. This amazing glass crystal file has changed everything. I can actually smooth my nail edge in just a few strokes of this efficient file. No ragged edges to deal with. I tried it on my big toe nail, which is much sturdier, and I can shorten the length with very little effort, same clean results.
