  • When you use it for pi, there is no driver installation needed but you need to install software
  • When you power up bn 220 GPS module the first time in a new location, it always takes longer to find satillites. This is referred to as cold start. Once youve done it the first time, later when you restart bn220 GPS module, it will get a lock much faster.
  • bn220 gps has flash to save configuration, so you do not need to reset data next time when you use it. But bn220 gps doesn't have compass. If you need gps with flash and compass, please check bn-880 gps via "Visit the DIYmalls Store"
  • Data Level : TTL or RS-232,Default TTL level. To make it be RS232 output, you need to use one TTL to RS232 converter cable

I was disappointed that the Tyt MD9600 ham radio I bought didn't include GPS, so I bought this to mod it. It worked perfectly, requiring that I only solder the wire for power, ground, and TXD (the radio never sends data to the GPS, so the RXD wire is not necessary. This thing is better than I dared hope. I have bought 5 of the BN-220 GPS modules over the past 3 years. Some to replace failed modules and some for new projects. Of the 5 I bought, only 2 worked when I received them. I have tried programing the settings of the 3 bad one's, but that made no difference. I have decided to spend a little more money and get better GPS modules like the Matek M10Q-5883. ... show more

The wire are stout with the connector s. The GPS acquires lock within a few minutes. Good lock is a flashing Red light. I flew tactical just, flashing Red light should be changed to Blue, Green almost anything but Red...
