Decided to go with the BMW version of the roof rack rather than going with a Yakima. After watching the Yakima video and all the clips and adapter parts that were needed I chose the BMW version that is made to fix my X3 and SO happy I did. Very easy to install, instructions are written along with clear pictures (Yakima has gone to pictures only), and it fits on very snugly. My Yakima skybox fits on the BMW aerobar so we're good to go. Only downside is i can't use the bike rack that fits my old Yakima round bars, but I can deal with that. Would definitely recommend this choice for fitting your X3. ... show more

Opened packeage and found that within the black plastic wrap, the cardboard had been impacted significantly. Opened an found a dent in the rail packed in the lower position of the box. Dent had a orange mark on it. No question that i would be sending it back. Smooth transation to do that. Contactated local dealer to inquire on price and availability. Initial quote was significantly higher but after negotiating based on Amazon pricing, I got them locally for cheaper. Tips. there are stickers inside afer you unlock the plastic cap, indicates front, rear and left right. get your tape measure out with mm on it for determining locating on the rails. Easy install. They do create a whistle at certain speeds, no avoiding it. I have 2 bimmers, oem parts are always superior. ... show more

Bought this for my 2020 BMW X3 30iXdrive. It's the same OEM roof rack base you can get from BMW online or from a dealership, just cheaper. It even ships from a BMW dealer, so that made me feel a lot more comfortable when purchasing. Very easy to install. My roof rails don't have the markings for where they need to be placed, but the instructions had measurements on where I should line them up.     • Roof rack was what I expected, packaging was the worst.
Roof rack was exactly what I wanted but, it was sent in a box that only enclosed the bars about 80% and the rest was wrapped in packing tape. I wasn’t surprised one of the bar locks and arm was broke beyond repair. I think I’m the second review that received broken bars due to inadequate packing. You can roll the dice and risk getting these busted up or spend $80+ and get them from BMW parts department ( what I had to do ). ... show more

Ordered this roof rack for my wife's 2019 BMW X3 and was happy that they arrived quickly. As with all BMW roof racks, it is easy to install and also a cinch to remove. Went with OEM due to 1: price (Thules are easily $500+ for a pair), and 2: use of T bolts vs clamps to attach OEM roof box. Installed quickly and easily, only downside is a subtle on/off whistle from 65mph+ (only noticeable when audio is off); not sure if from box+bars, bars, or box only. Very easy to install and holding great. It has a slight whistle between 32 and 40 mph but that is more than made up by the much quieter ride when hauling the SUPs.

    • Super easy to get on and off
I tried a generic/universal rack from Amazon prior and it didn’t work (I ended stripping a screw on that one and it didn’t really grab the rail too well). This is one is meant to fit and installs really easily. You can take it off and on in a couple of minutes.
