  • NOT as advertised, does not work with Mapp gas
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
Product advertised for use with Mapp gas. Will work with propane, but will not ignite or stay lit when manually ignited with Mapp gas. Of course, return window closed - one of these days, it will be down to a day or two (Smile). For me, products that do not match their advertising are an automatic one star, regardless of how well they may or may not perform otherwise. ... show more

  • Doesn't work.
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
Didn't work right out of the box. The self ignition didn't spark and I couldn't even get it to light with a lighter.

  • Fails after 2 uses
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
I returned this to Amazon for credit. After 2 short uses the igniter failed. It is also very difficult to regulate flame size. I would never recommend this item to anyone. I replaced it with another brand which works fine.

  • Good overall pipe-thawing torch, but not a "pencil torch." Flame is unfocused.
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
This is advertised as being able to do brazing, but the flame is broad, with no definition. It could maybe braze two pieces of sheet metal together, but it lacks the focus to heat anything more than a few mm thick. It's cheap for a self-igniting torch. Flame is not adjustable and I have no idea what they're getting at when they say "extend 1.5." The head doesn't extend. It's fixed in place. ... show more

  • Only worked once. Don't buy it
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
It worked fine the first time I used it and I was happy. Three weeks later (yesterday) I had to sweat some copper and the ignition wouldn't work. I pushed the button 10 maybe 12 times and it sparked. Today I went to use it again and it would not spark. Then I tried lighting it up with a lighter and it wouldn't stay lit. What a disappointment. And the return window has closed. I put my old one on that I have to light manually and turn on with a pair of pliers and it worked. Don't buy it. A waste of money and time. A refund would be nice. Then I would say they at least made it right. We will see I guess ... show more

  • Not bad
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
Well it’s not a bad product but seems a bit cheap. The plastic on and off knob is not sturdy. It will probably break in time. The flame isn’t very intense and the company recommends disconnecting the torch from the tank each time that you are finished with it which is kind of user unfriendly.

  • clogged after 2 uses
Pattern Name: MAPP Torch Head Only
I used it for two days for about 10 minutes each time, I would have ranked it 4* for that performance, but the third time I tried to use it no gas would come out. Pretty unreliable.
