  • Doesn't last long
Pattern Name: Pro Full Kit
I have purchased this item twice, the first one stopped working after a couple of days no gas would flow through it it's like the on and off valve was stuck shut, my second one lasted a little bit longer but the same thing happened, no gas will flow through it I have tried propane and map gas.

  • A very useful tool for the Artists loft.
Pattern Name: Pro Full Kit
A very useful tool for the Artists loft. As a metalsmith I generally have a torch ie; oxy/acetylene, oxy/propane , propane, butane- aflame, whether it's for annealing, soldering, flame patinas [works great for adding a patina to copper], whatever your needs may be, this is an extremely handy little torch and for $49.00 [basic system is $39.00] it's a steal. I highly recommend this torch and I like it's physical structure as it leads well into a higher temp oxy/acetylene set-up. Handy and a great way to introduce new students to soldering and torch work. I highly recommend it... ... show more

  • I'm not happy at all! Not Very Good Quality
Pattern Name: Basic Torch Only
As you can see in the pictures it broke using it on shrink tube. A very lightweight job. I noticed the metal tip was bent so I barely tried bending it back and it effortlessly just snapped in two. You can clearly see how thin the metal is where it broke. Super thin metal. Paper thin. This torch is not what I'd hoped it would be at all. It seemed like a decent product but it clearly isn't. The picture of how thin the metal is makes that very clear. I guess its possible that I got a defective product? Who knows? (I can't return it either because I threw away the packaging and I had to modify it, cutting the hose so I could attach my old torch to the regulator to finish the job.) (This was original post and I gave 5 stars) I purchased this Bluefire Micro Torch because my 25 yr old Bernzomatic regulator started leaking fuel. To replace the regulator is over $50. This torch with the hose, regulator and striker is around $30 for all of it. My Bernzomatic torch is better quality but they no longer make it anymore to my knowledge. So this is a great replacement for a third of the price. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Good for heating tight areas
Pattern Name: Pro Full Kit
I bought this torch to heat up seized fasteners in confined areas instead of a normal propane torch that heats up everything.

  • One of a kind, Mapp gas pencil torch.
Pattern Name: Pro Full Kit
This is now one of my favorite tools. I had some precision brazing to do and this Mapp torch worked perfectly. The small butane torches that are available, do not burn hot enough to properly brass braze or high content silver solder. This tiny torch is a life saver and a fine product. I highly recommend this tool! ... show more

  • Not for precision work until modified...
Pattern Name: Pro Full Kit
I'm currently building a bunch of 240 volt 50 amp cables. I like to solder the ends of the cooper wire to keep shorting whiskers from being a problem. In the past when doing one or two cables, I'd just use a propane cylinder with a standard plumber's torch. But, the setup isn't exactly a precision solution. I purchased this with the intent on using MAPP gas to solder tin the big-gauge cables. The problem is, the short 3' 1/8" (3.2mm) 20bar (~300psi) hose is far too stiff to move the torch around easily. As a fix, I've ordered a 10' air brush hose. A MAPP gas cylinder produces about 100psi. This is about the maximum pressure for such hose. I couldn't find any listings for burst pressure. I'll be anchoring the hose to the barbs with a wire clamp tool similar to the ClampTite offering. Also, the torch output seems to be rather inconsistent as it warms. Like being in the shower, as the pipes heat up, the hot water volume decreases. Just be aware and keep an eye out and adjust as necessary. The included spark igniter is useless. Have a Bic BBQ or candle lighter on-hand to use as a torch lighter. I'm sure once I massage the tool to get it to work the way I need it to, it will function well. But, the fact I have to do the work to make it work, kinda blows. ... show more

  • Handy Soldering Tool
Pattern Name: Basic Torch Only
I have always used an electric soldering iron. Some jobs get so hot the components are damaged by the time the joint is soldered. This pin point flame gets the joint almost instantly solder ready!
