  • Great for the price, but you may need a timer for it.
Size: up to 15,000 Gallons Color: white
This unit replaced a three year old Hayward unit. Yes the cell fit right into the plumbing with no modifications. The wiring was the same as well, with one important difference. The directions call for wiring it to the pool timer switch. My pool pump has the timer(s) built into the control panel which has no outputs to wire anything else to it. I wired it to the pool pump input which is powered all the time. Each morning when I looked at the control panel on the Blue Works, it had the lights on (not flashing) for check cell and check salt. The display showed salt lo and the unit was not generating. The unit ran fine each day after I cleared these faults but would reappear the next morning. I then bought and wired a timer to the unit so that when the pump shut off, the timer then de-energized the unit, and re-energized it upon pump startup. This solved the problem nicely. I will report back after some time has passed and I can speak to its functionality and reliability. ... show more

  • Used parts for warranty repair… didn’t last
*update: replacement cell sent in 6/2021 has failed in 9/2022. Bummer. Again. Coming up on two years with this unit and currently working through a warranty replacement of the salt cell which has failed. Erroneously displaying low salt, a tell-tale sign of a failing salt cell. Had a Hayward Aquarite 40k system for about 10 years before that needed a new cell and display, so I thought I’d take a chance on an off brand chlorinator. Went with the 40k model. Arrived promptly and price was great (in July of ‘19). Installation was a breeze as the cell is the exact size as the old name brand system. Controls and function, again, almost identical to the old system I had. No plumbing work needed. Came branded as “LemonPool” which wasn’t shown on the listing but honestly not a big deal. Ran fine as expected from 8/19 through the 2020 season. Startup this year and noticed low salt readings. Bummer. Emailed customer service. Quick response (within an hour) and phone diagnosis from Dave. A week later, same problem returned, salt reading low. Email from support says a failed cell, and will send a USED replacement for $20 shipping. Or they’ll ship it fit free free if I left a review about their customer service... Well, I paid for the shipping and here’s an honest review. Not a fan of a company that sends used parts for warranty repair, and charges for shipping when their product fails within the warranty period. If you’re gonna advertise a warranty, stand by your product and don’t bait customers with discounts for reviews. I’m still waiting for the USED replacement cell. I’ll update the review when it arrives. UPDATE: Received replacement cell within a few days. It’s the beige color (original was clear- no biggie). Noticed the model was different cell than original, emailed customer service to confirm the cell type setting was F-15. They confirmed F-15. Ok. Ran a little while and now salt reading at 5100. Knowing I didn’t add 12 bags of salt from the prior season, was just gonna shut it down and manually dose chlorine until I could get the water tested. Customer service actually emailed me to see how things were going. Still can’t get an accurate salt reading. Pool store tested salt at 3600 PPM. Customer service says, oh wait, the cell type setting should actually be T-15. Made the change and now all seems to be running OK. Pretty frustrating since I had emailed them specifically to confirm the cell type setting with a picture of the new cell/serial number and got the wrong answer. Replacement cell is only warranted for the duration of the original purchase, so I have a shiny new/used cell with a five week warranty. Hopefully it’ll last a couple seasons. I’ll update review if it tanks. Thought about docking another star but mistakes happen. Nice of customer service to reach out. Still not sure if I’d buy this again, but also not convinced it hasn’t performed the same as the name brand chlorinator that’s way more expensive. ... show more

  • Easy LCD panel with full instructions - EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Came with all attachments, fittings, etc needed. Flow Indicator was in great shape and CLEARLY MARKED for flow direction - something that wasn't done on my previous unit. Instructions were clear and gave multiple options for the installer to do his work. Unit is 110 and 220 compatible?! Did not know this! Excellent product. My pool is 23k and since installing this product the pool as been SPARKLING. absolutely fantastic product, on part with Hayward, with about 1/2 the price! Great value. WORD TO THE WISE: DO NOT GET A LARGER SYSTEM THAN WHAT YOU NEED: I have seen negative reviews where folks are talking about how the 40k gallon system did not work for their 15k gallon pool... be within 15% of your pool size, otherwise, the ratio of salt/water/chlorination isn't going to process correctly! My pool is 22-23k so I got the 25k version. Make sure to know how the size of your pool before buying it! Update: 6/21 I was going to leave a negative review here because I was getting 0000 for salt readout - which is obviously not helpful and led me to rely on a water test from a local company to determine what the salinity of the water was (they were wrong) - e-mailed support and got a call back within an hour! They walked me through resetting the jumpers on the unit (was set to 240 by the installer, should have been 120!) and the system is now working great... now I need to drain the pool and refill it to lower the salt content but that is NOT the fault of Blue Works! The customer support was fantastic! Update 7/27/2020 The pool has been almost entirely maintenance-free, outside of clearing skimmers and the like - Pool clarity is crystal! I have to give some special thanks to Dave over at Blue Works Customer Support who helped me troubleshoot the initial installation (Which was performed wrong by a professional!). Customer Support for the product, again, I cannot stress, is fantastic! Will be recommending to anyone who has a pool considering a saltwater conversion to check out Blue Works! Way better priced than other brands! Can I give 6 stars?! I want to!!! ... show more
