  • Blind indeed
3.5 This was my first 'hot nerd' story. We all are usually used to the tall, dark and handsome aesthetic of a man who's possessive and scary. But Asher was TOTAL opposite. He wanted to learn what women want, so he read the books, he did the homework. And he wanted his high school crush Scarlet. I loved the story of obviously falling in love with someone beyond their looks, beyond the surface. Asher taught her that. In the end, she didn't care what he looked like, only that he adored her. ... show more

  • Awesome story!
If you ever wanted to know what it feels like to best all the bullies in your life, this is the book for you. When Asher aka Mr. Stone realizes that a letter in the local paper was written by a high school crush, he sets in motion a plan to challenge all her concerns and insecurities. In the process, he finds out some things about himself. Life is a struggle and the process is difficult for both of them and well, you’ll have to read it to find out what happens. ... show more

  • Ugly duckling to beautiful swan!
This is my first time reading this author, but I immediately one-clicked the second book of the series! This is my favorite type of romance! This book has all the emotional feels and plenty of angst to keep me glued to the pages! I loved the characters, Asher Roan and his nerdy friends, and Scarlett Farrow. I must admit that Scarlett had to grow on me in the beginning. I loved their troubled journey from grade school to adulthood and beyond. All of those kids weathered a lot of disappointed hopes and even physical and psychological abuse. My heart broke for some of the humiliations the kids endured. The storyline was wonderfully addictive and compelling. And , the romance between Asher and Scarlett is definitely a slow burn, but sizzles later in the story! I can't wait to read "Untied" and Elliott's story! He seems to be the other person who suffered the most at the hands of the popular kids. ... show more

  • It's so, sooo good! Just one thing...
I couldn't put it down. I lost sleep and was late to work for this book. I LOVED IT! Such a perfect blending of the Bossy Billionaire trope and the Beauty and the Beast, "I don't deserve her love" trope (admittedly my catnip). I adored the insights into BOTH of their insecurities, something you don't often get with a billionaire style book. I'm writing this review only after buying the next book in the series. (Though I will wait until the weekend to read it when staying up all night reading has fewer consequences lol) I really can't recommend this book enough, but one thing: skip the epilogue. It takes it from this sultry romance to something just kinda silly. Like, cool, glad they lived HEA, but the tone shift was jarring. Otherwise, though, fabulous book. ... show more

  • Completely consuming story that is wonderfully sexy and very touching!!
My first from Lydia Michaels that I literally went into, 'blind', and boy am I happy I did! This slow-burn adventure was beautifully executed and had my attention from the very start. My heart broke for the high school life that Asher Roan and his good friends endured. Seeing how they are now hugely successful entrepreneurs at the age of 30 was gratifying and yet I understood Asher's need to be more. I liked that his plan to make the girl of his teenage dreams, one Scarlet Farrow, feel like a queen when she was clearly struggling to find some semblance of love and affection, was not borne out of hate. His steadfast kindness and joy that he could be the man she craves drove him and I, right along with his buddies in Elliot, Jet and Hunter, to the point where we all hoped it was worth the effort. The Author takes her time telling this story, just as Asher takes his time in making Scarlet feel cherished. I loved the premise of his mysterious alter ego in Mr. Stone and the way he could light up both her mind and body with just a few words. As she remained blindfolded for each of their 14 encounters. Asher's surprise that he could be the sexy dominant that Scarlet craved was wonderful to witness. And it hurt to see that his fear of being rejected once that blindfold would undoubtedly come off, often held him back. Blind is sexy and thoughtful and wildly erotic. The fact that Scarlet found her own voice in this exciting game of cat and mouse added another layer of enjoyment for this reader. I liked that she held her ground when needed and yet placated Mr. Stone when warranted. They certainly had found in the other, the imperfectly perfect match and I was nervous at times that it wouldn't all work out the way it should. Whether it would all fall into place was anyone's guess and the Author brilliantly kept me guessing until the last 10 percent or so. Lucky me, I don't have to wait for Elliot's book, since it was recently published, almost 4 years after Blind. These are great characters and I can't wait to get intimate with them once more. This book being a fantastic surprise from a new-to-me author, I am thrilled to give Blind a huge 5 stars!! ... show more

  • Blind: A Mastermind Novel
Blind is the first book & only book in the Mastermind Series. Have you ever attended a “Live” takeover by Lydia Michaels? Well I have and when she speaks of her books she brings her characters live. This is a little different type of story. Mr. Asher Roan aka Mr. Stone & his “nerd” friends were all bullied while in school. Scarlet Farrow was the girl that told him to get away from her while in High School after a cruel prank had been played on Asher. Scarlet didn’t play the prank herself but, ended up involved indirectly. Years later. While drunk one evening Scarlett wrote a letter online seeking Don Juan and posted it. Asher sees it and remembers her from school. This is where Asher cooks up a plan to see Scarlett again. But, all their dates have been with her blindfolded and she never gets to see him. I loved the premise of this story! 4 stars and I look forward to reading more books by this author. ... show more
