I've bought two of these and so far, very pleased. They do a good job of blocking out light and heat, are easy to cut to size, the little stickers it comes with work well, and if you need to remove the shade to recenter it's easy. I will say these are thin, which makes it simple to cut and put up by yourself, but I don't know how they'll work longterm if put up and taken down several times. For the price, $13 at time of writing, I'm impressed so far. After cutting for my last window, I may try using some to black out the back of an aquarium. The stickers work well on glass and come off easily so this might be a cheap and functional alternative to those of us who don't want to paint the backs of our aquariums. ... show more

    • Surprisingly good
I was a bit skeptical at first, not so much the ability of blocking light but as to it supposedly blocking some of the heat. I work from home and my office gets direct hit from the afternoon sun. That same office used to hit 95-100 degrees in the summer and since putting this up on all my windows can say it has not made it to 90, more the less even in a heat wave really making it past 85. I can say I am pleased with my purchase. I can say though cutting straight lines and whatnot on huge sheets can be a bit challenging but luckily only really have to do that once. The sticky tabs vs Velcro I found tabs work better. The Velcro just came off the window in the heat. The sticky tabs can be a bit of a challenge to get the one side sheet removed to stick but again nothing worth docking stars for. Highly recommend if you need black out and or heat reduction from the sun. ... show more

Initially I was hesitant on this product but when it came in, I opened it snd realized it literally comes with everything besides a knife / blade… I was Impressed! 6 sticky dots per window and bam- room is completely dark. I was able to use 1 sheet for 6 windows! Incredible!

I bought this blackout curtain and another brand. The other was great. It was thick, didn’t smell and had plenty of velcro to put it up. I’d pass on this one if you are reading reviews to decide. This one has a strong chemical smell, little holes all over that let light through, and the circular sticky tape it comes with is worthless. It wouldn’t stick and when I got the paper off just balled up into a sticky clump. I ended up using double sided tape to put it up but for the cost am dissatisfied. ... show more

Held this right up to the sun and could barely see the outline of it. Indirect sunlight is completely blocked out. Definitely a little surprised by the material though. I thought it would be more of a “curtain fabric”, something soft to the touch, but it feel more like a plastic liner. Not a huge fan, but it def does what it supposed to do. You can also cut these to size, and the kit comes with a tape measure, sticky dots, Velcro fro Pull flaps down when needed, and a marker to mark the appropriate cut lines. I used these for the large windows in my massage room to help create a relaxing environment. They were prefect! They don't let any light in. In the picture, I used them on the left wall. You can see a few cracks of light but it doesn't effect the darkness of the room. It can easily be fixed by me adding more stickys than I did (I used a very minimal amount) ... show more
