Description

The Storm 450 is engineered for epics in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 450 lumens of bright light. With a new, compact body, the Storm 450 is more ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a secondary switch for easy mode selection. In addition, the updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light, but also saves battery life that you can now easily track with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter. The Storm 450 also has three different colored night vision modes and peripheral white lighting for close-range activities like carefully re-racking for the final summit pitch in the dark. The headlamp has our Brightness Memory feature, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. The Storm 450's PowerTap Technology enables you to quickly and easily access maximum brightness with the touch of a finger.

I use it on my early morning runs. It works great! Some have noted issues with the battery latch. I have not experienced that issue and have changed batteries at least twice. It fastens differently than previous models - so just be gentle until you get the hang of it. There are different levels of brightness - I keep mine on 100% bright for the run. Easy to adjust and stays put once adjusted. I have used Black Diamond in the past. My main reason for selecting Black Diamond is weight - or it being lighter than other brands. I love the amount of light this headlamp provides when needed. The only downside is it has a lot of options and can take some time to figure out. I didn't find the directions user friendly.

I have owned +\- 10 of these headlamps over the years.. They have always been durable and reliable. For the price point, they have always been the obvious choice. I work in maintenance on boats, so I use a headlamp almost every day of the week. I typically go through one or two of these a year before one of the components fails. For the wear and tear I put them through, that’s to be expected. The clasp on this one broke the very first time I put batteries in it.. I now have to close the battery compartment using a zip tie. Otherwise the headlamp would be useless. I was working out of the country when my old one broke. I ordered this one while I was away so that it would be there when I got home. Now that I’m back, the return window is closed.. BUMMER ... show more

Clip broke just like all the other reviews. It also gave me other options that I should purchase. They offered a BD1800 and it doesn’t fit the unit. Trashy design. find it hard to believe they still sell these.

I only had it for 10 minutes. I opened it up. Placed the batteries in. Tried closing it. Then it broke. Didn't even turn on the flashlight. These products should all just be recalled and removed from the stock.

The light bulb is great, but the clamp is super low quality. As soon as you put in the batteries, carefully close it and close the clamp, it will break apart. I got 2 of these and both broke the clamp as soon as i put in the battery

The battery cover clip was broken in the packaging. I cannot imagine that this would hold up to use if it was broken on arrival. I put in batteries and liked the lamp features, but cannot justify a repurchase with this fundamental design defect.

The tab that holds the half’s together broke after the first use. The light itself is phenomenal but what good is a head light that doesn’t stay together🤷♂️☹️
