I received my black cherry sampling today. When it arrived it was nothing more than a dried skinny stick with a few roots. I have done as recommended in the description of the purchase. I have soaked it in water right at 2 of the 3 hrs recommended. It now has a little flex to the sampling. We will see. If it does anything as far as show survival. I will come back to amended my review. Due to the fact I have never left a bad review for anything before. Edit: so yeah a complete waste of money. I bought a damn stick with roots . ... show more

    • Not a growing live tree
The photos are misleading. I received a 7” dried out stick with very little root stock. It arrived in a sealed Mylar pouch. It’s covered in white mold and smells rotten. It’s obviously been in the pouch for a long while. I’ve planted it in a pot in an area separate from other plants so as to avoid cross contamination. I feel ripped off for $25 bucks and do not recommend. After reading these reviews, shame on Amazon for allowing them to continue to sell something like this. ... show more

You get 30 days to return. This is a tree. Planted in Winter in my zone 7. There is no way to tell if it will grow within a thirty day period. Followed instructions to plant a $25, 5” long stick. No surprise, no buds, no growth. Vigorous growth on plants from other suppliers in my sunny garden. Sorry supplier! You didn’t provide any way for me to contact you, so I will get your attention with a review instead of a quiet conversation. If you’re an adult, you should be so ashamed of yourself, you should close your “business” and send any residuals (doubtful they exist) to a legitimate charity instead of your pockets. ... show more

This was a terrible idea to purchase. It arrived as a stick and months after planting, following instructions, and with input from the nearest UW Extension farm co-op, it is still not growing. It arrived as a dead stick, it remains a dead stick. I want my money back.

After all the negative reviews I was a little worried. But I was surprised at how nice the plant looked. It was so well packaged, I had to fight to get it open. I have decided to keep it in a larger pot until the fall to put it out.

    • A Complete Waste of Time and Money - Just a Stick!

I was really excited to grow my own Black Cherry tree, especially after reading the product description that promised a strong and healthy seedling. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. What I Received When the package arrived, what I found inside was essentially a stick, far from the "strong and healthy" seedling described by ANDAG. It was disappointing to say the least. Planting Experience Determined to give it a shot, I followed the provided planting instructions to the letter. I even soaked the root in water for the recommended 3 to 5 hours before planting it outdoors in full sunlight. The Result Despite my best efforts, the "seedling" never grew. It remained a stick, showing no signs of life. I waited patiently, hoping to see at least a sprout, but nothing happened. Overall I feel cheated out of my $25.99. This product did not deliver on its promises, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking to grow their own Black Cherry tree. It's a complete waste of time and money. ... show more

Tree arrived on time to my mother, who is a retired florist. In the 2.5 months that she has had it, there has been no change. I tried contacting customer service but there was no response except a message on Amazon saying that the return window had closed in March. I only asked for suggestions so I was hoping the company would at least reach out to help. ... show more

I bought 2 plants and they didn't have the height described (15"-17"), the ones received were just about 9" high, and with few leaves . Don't match the picture neither. My opinion product is not well described, and the actual plants received were way too expensive in comparison with the actual plants described. ... show more
