  • Best home carpet shampooer if you have pets!
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
I have owned many carpet cleaners and this one is by far my favorite. The cleaner lifts off to take care of spots and steps. We have even used it for our car seats. Very easy to keep clean and requires little to no maintenance. There is one part that I feel could be improved which is the tank emptying. I feel there should be a better way to empty the dirty water tank than the current method, however, it’s still a great product! (See update below) UPDATE: There is an easy way to empty the tank, I completely missed it! You simply flip the handle completely over to the other side on the dirty water tank and the top comes off for easy emptying! ... show more

  • Best shampooer just like ConsumerReports.com says!
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
Everything about this thing is great. It definitely cleaned very well and came with two different, good cleaners for several uses. It might not heat up to your expectations, but there is only so much it can do on a limited amount of amps on a household outlet. The thing is loud when sucking. Enough that I put on my earmuffs when I was doing it for about 30+ mins. The important thing is that after I let a dehumidifier blow on it overnight, even at about 65 degrees, it was all dry by morning. ... show more

  • works very well
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
good seller, arrived quickly, easy assembly, worked very very well on extremely dirty carpet, seems to have less suction than a Hoover I was used to using, but carpets dried just as quickly, so maybe it was just my imagination, used it twice so far and am very happy with it. It would be nice if the water containers were bigger but that would just make it bulkier and heavier I guess ... show more

  • Super convenient!
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
I also have a big green steamer, but wanted something more portable for stairs & to take to my office, & for carrying upstairs etc for spot cleaning etc... This is fabulous. It holds enough water to do a small room of maintenance cleaning. I wish it held a bit more volume, but also pleased that it's weight is light, so I'm ok with it, esp since the cannister is really easy to remove, empty, & refill. Totally worth it & would buy again. ... show more

  • If the suction don't work, check that the little red thing is in right spot
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
I used this for my room, was very happy. Next I walked to try my stairs as they had seen better days. I couldn't get the handheld suction to work. I tried everything I could think of. I knew it worked, as I had just finished my bedroom. After many hours googling with no help, I figured I would try cleaning it. Even though I only did one room, maybe somehow it was clogged. That's when I noticed the little red thing moves once you take it off the base, or in my case didn't move. So I just removed the screws and flipped it. I guess it was a little stiff after production. I waited until after I used it a few more times to write this. That was the only time I have had to move it, now it works great. ... show more

  • Tiny tank, good job on fur, powered brushes
Style: ProHeat Lift-Off
BLUF: Cleans well, great powered brushes, tiny water tanks, drips frequently. If you plan to use the hand held mode frequently then this may be an outstanding unit. If you are looking for a unit that will be used for large rooms, then you may want to consider a system with a larger tank. Major annoyances first: This unit has the smallest water capacity I have ever used for an upright cleaner. Following the directions of spraying cleaner on 2 strokes before the dry passes in a 10' x 10' room I had to refill the cleaner reservoir twice (it needed 2 1/4 "buckets" to do 1 small room). I am dreading using for the larger rooms because I will likely hit my steps for the week just walking back and forth refilling and emptying the tanks. This might be a benefit when using it in the portable mode since it will be lighter, I have admittedly not used that function as of yet. Speaking of the tanks, filling the clean water tank is challenging because the fill line is printed on an angled surface and the bottom does not sit flat unless you overhang the bottom cap. I use 2x cleaning solution and the label printed on the unit says to fill to water line then add to the 2x cleaner line ...it does not exist. The printed instructions say to use 1.5 oz. Good thing i had a measuring cup that lists where 1.5 oz is. I have low to medium pile carpets so I do not have the issue others complain about not sucking the water. The carpet is as damp as previous cleaners have left the floors. Something to consider is that the instructions tell you to do at least 2 passes without water/cleaner over each area, this may help if some are not going over the area more than once. Also, because of the lower pile, there is no issue with pulling carpet fibers up. With multiple animals it does leave wet fur balls around despite vacuuming, but I attribute that to a deeper clean than the vacuum. I am disappointed by the drips it leaves. As others have noted, there is a perpetual drip line behind the suction point. This isnt much of an issue while cleaning assuming you are cleaning backward toward you because you will eventually go over each drip line...until the end. Heaven help you if you leave it sitting for a few minutes in a single spot, there will be a nice wet spot left for you. Minor annoyance: I am not used to a power cord sticking out on the side of the cleaner. I find myself constantly running it over, or getting it caught up between the handle and the cleaner if i switch hands to push the handle. As it is the only way so far i have found to consistently control the cord is to hold it in my right hand and push with my left. 1/2 way through a room I am longing to switch it up but then there is the cord ...argh. Another minor complaint is that the clean water tank sits inside dark plastic. As seen from above, when you reach about mid-way through the solution you cannot tell how much is left in the tank. Added to that is the way the dirty water is sucked into its tank can be challenging to see the flow of water. This all resulted in me "cleaning" areas of the carpet before i realized that i was out of clean water and had to go back over those areas after. Positives: The cleaner does clean the low to medium pile carpets as well as my previous hoover unit did, perhaps a bit better (drip lines not withstanding). It is lighter to push around (at the cost of reduced water capacity). I love that the brushes appear to be powered brushes and not the wind powered turbine deals of yore. Replacing the tanks are easy and an improvement over previous cleaners. ... show more
