This is an amazing carpet cleaner; however, it is not made to easily go around tables, chairs and corners. It cleans with backward and forward strokes making it not only easier to deep clean the carpets, but also quicker as it removes much more water with each stroke than the standard cleaner. As previously mentioned, it is not easy to move around furniture. It has a horrible turn radius.     • A must for messy pups
Style: Big Green + Pro Formula
This has been easy to use and does a better job in fewer passes then the other machines. Kid spills, pup accidents, or even a dropped coffee cup. My pups are specially abled, so Spills, bumps and things falling it's the norm. This makes clean up quick and easy.

The unit seems to be well made. The parts seem to be fairly thick and tough. The unit weighs a lot, so it is kind of hard to carry up and downstairs, especially with the tanks installed. Like most carpet cleaners, the dirty water is extremely dirty. Unlike most other carpet cleaners, you can really see the difference in the carpets! There was no need for side-by-side comparisons. The difference is obvious. I'm not sure how much credit goes to the cleaner or the shampoo that comes with it, but the combination of the two really worked well! I downgraded the stairs mostly because of the weight. It would be nice if the hose was long enough to reach all of the stairs from either the top or bottom, but you can't. ... show more

I have an old dog and a toddler and they both can make quite a mess. This machine is an absolute godsend. Deep cleans. Gets out stains that have been in the carpet for years. I didn't realize my carpet was this light colored!!!! The real test was that we pulled out a large piece of furniture that had been in the same place since I moved in--a whole long time ago and after using this cleaner--my daughter commented--oh wow, the carpet matches the carpet that was under the furniture. It dumps a whole lot of water on the carpet and really deep scrubs. This may be my favorite all time purchase ever!!! (I've gone through a lot of carpet cleaners over the years--like 5). We love our Green Machine! We have two big dogs and dogs come over often. Plus we have a very light rug and carpet. So needless to say, there is always a mess needing clean up. The green machines amazes us every time! It’s as if we pay for a professional carpet clean, but you get to focus on spots that need the extra attention. Things we have treated with it, and how it has done. Pee spots: when we acted fast, we got it all. But before we had the green machine there were some accidents, or a little surprise was left and we found it a week later (don’t judge, we have all been there) it would get like 90% of it. But remember, our rug is a super light cream colored and is thick looped wool. So I don’t think anyone else notices it’s there, except us. Blood: our 100lb pooch was in heat, and so drops of blood would sometimes appear. Even waiting the two weeks for her to be done. The green machine got all of the blood out. Other things it has gotten out: Green Pen, Red Gatorade, dirt, scoot marks, and everything in between. It is a large machine, and an event to get it out, so we haven’t ever tried on our stairs. And it’s not meant for little jobs. You have to use the whole tank of water, or else you waste it. But we have done half tanks before. When we do a full tank, it generally covers a deep clean of 400-800 sq ft. Being wheelchair bound for a prolonged period of time after an accident, my carpets were a mess due to having three dogs (2 of them puppies) who love to dig in the dirt and play in the mud. And the hair!!! I wanted to have the carpets replaced but was too embarrassed to have anyone see them in the condition they were in, so I decided to spring for this after reading many independent review sites. I am amazed and delighted! This makes my carpets look and feel new, except for a few stubborn stains that one has to look for. Some things I've learned: use the full amount of detergent recommended. It works much better on really dirty carpets if you do. Use a spot stain remover on really bad stains; it helps. It does leave a slight soapy residue, so I go over it again with clean water in the shampoo tank. It's well worth doing; the carpets are left soft, springy and odor-free. I haven't had it long, so I don't know about it's durability, but I've done three rooms so far and am just over the moon with the results. This may be pricey but it’s worth it. It got my floor that we were planning to rip out looking brand new. It does wonders on dog messes as well as anything else that isn’t burned that I’ve encountered. It is durable and does not clog East like their cheaper shampooer that requires you to keep is super clean and dry every time or it won’t do what it’s supposed to every again. This one seems to not have that problem at all. It holds a lot of shampoo solution and has a big tank for what you pull out. I’m super happy I decided to go for it and spend the money. And I’ve had this quite a while now. Months and months. Maybe more than a year but I not sure on date. You will definitely like this if you have big jobs or lost to clean up out of carpet or want something that will make it brand new and is durable and has a long lifespan. For things in tight areas and edges and furniture you have to use the hose attachments. It comes with a nice one and if you have the other ones you for other Bissell shampooers they are interchangeable and that’s a plus! ... show more
