This is a very well-engineered product that exceeded my expectations for quality and for ease of assembling. The materials is high grade, clear cedar and the various pre-drilled holes are well-placed. This is a first class product, well worth the price.

Color: Wood Guard with Log Color
I bought these for my nieces and nephews to put together and paint when they came on vacation to visit. This was such a fun thing for them to do and they loved it. I was so impressed by the high quality of these and they are made out of cedar. The wood grain is so beautiful that you almost don’t want to paint them and you don’t need to. They were very easy to assemble. I bought some outdoor acrylic paints and some paint brushes from Amazon and they turned out so nice. You don’t want to place a clear coat on them if you paint them, from my understanding, because these are not good for the birds. The paint dried in less than 24 hours and they were able to take them home and hang them in their yard. They have a latch making them easy to open for cleaning and it is very durable. They do not have a perch, but you don’t want a perch, because that is a way that squirrels can position themselves on a birdhouse and chew through it. The guards around the entrance are perfect and help prevent this, but if a squirrel wants to get into any birdhouse they will find a way, so I was surprised at the negative reviews about this. I looked at dozens of birdhouses and read the reviews before I purchased these. I believe that these are the best ones to buy due to the high quality and the price. I highly recommend them and I plan on purchasing more in the future for us, except we won’t paint them. The birdhouses locally at the store are higher priced and I don’t think are as nice as these. I just hope this company keeps the price point low so I can afford to buy more and they will definitely sell more if they do. ... show more

Quality product at a great price. I found it easier to swap step 4 and 5 as shown in the instructions. Also I recommend aligning the latch w/pin first and then tighten front panel into place.

This was so easy to put together, it only took about 5 minutes each (I bought 3). A friend came over to help me mount them on the trees and even he was impressed. It has a cute latch on the "front door" that will make it easy to clean out completely at the end of the season. It also has notches cut in for the fledglings to climb up. They really put a lot of great features and quality touches into this design. Looks pretty weatherproof as well and it is made of cedar so I am expecting them to last for years.     • Super easy to put together made with very high-quality brass and cedar

I watched my has been put this together in less than seven minutes. Make sure you separate the long screws from the short ones. There’s only three long ones and they are securing it to the tree or post the short ones just use for putting the box together so that it’s cedar because it won’t, and it has a guard around the hole so the squirrels can’t dig at it. The guard is made out of brass very very very happy with this purchase. I ordered another one for my grandson to put together. It is pre-drilled and has it sunk in for the screw heads , it comes with a little tool to use, but it would take a long time. We use a ratchet screwdriver with the Phillips head. It looks great. I hope the bluebirds like it The price is fantastic too for this quality item. You won’t be. Sorry you purchased it. ... show more
