  • I’m honestly undecided.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 8 Gallon Color: White
This tank is absolutely beautiful, hands down my favorite design, however I may have got myself in a money pit. Not just the tank itself, but everything you need to go with it. I had read the specs several times before committing to the purchase so when I got it home and started reading, I wasn’t able to use the sand I purchased, as well as the air bubbler, and automatic fish feeder. I would have saved my money on those products if the manual was included in the specs. Also, you are required to use the specific filter for this tank and change them every 4-6 weeks and they are pricey as hell. It also says in the manual that there are other pieces that have to be replaced after a year and I’m sure they are a pretty penny too. Like I said, I love the design of this tank so I’m going to try to troop through it, but if I would have known this before I had to get the physical tank in my possession I may have considered another alternative. I will include manual in my review. Hope it helps! ... show more

  • Low Maintenance High Relaxation
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 4 Gallon Color: White
I Love the style and design of what Oase Living Water have to offer in the BiOrb aquarium collections. This is my first BiOrb FLOW tank. And my first Betta! ( always had mostly schooling fish when I was a kid). Set up was super easy. Just follow the simple step by step pictures. I purchased several different plant accessories instead of a Decor Kit so that I can have a more customized look. Once set up, the water has to Cycle for 24 hours so don’t go to aquarium store to get your new fish until the BiOrb is ready . I decided to get a Betta because the Petco Fish expert said my 5 gallon tank isn’t big enough for anything else. (I didn’t want a goldfish because I know the filter would need to be changed more frequently). This is the way a Betta should live! He seems So much happier than in a bowl of still water. The pump runs hard so it bounces right off the table and just continues to do so. It’s long enough to reach the carpet from the tv console table the tank sits on, so I wrapped a sock sound it (as another buyer stated) and you can barely hear it if it’s up against the wall ;) So fast forward to my first Complete water change... yes I had to do a complete water & filter change after just 4 months because the instructions on the Aqueon betta food say to feed 2-3 times per day enough that could be consumed in 2minutes. Algae started growing on everything so I added a few cherry shrimp to do some cleaning up. (Shrimp are the only other aquatic species that the Betta won’t kill). I went back to Petco to see if there was some kind of drops to quicken the algae kill, and when the Fish Chick seen my picture she said my Betta is Bloated and she shouldn’t be able to see the fish’s waste. So over feeding caused the rampant algae growth and since I had large white rocks in the front and the ceramic media toward the back, you could actually see how much Brixton was doing his thing if you know what I mean, so I chose to start over~ fresh. I removed the large topiary ball because it was taking up too much space. Brixton is now on an more appropriate diet if just 3 tiny nuggets of food once a day. I will update went it’s time to do a Partial water & filter change, ;) ... show more

  • but they've been fine. The amount of substrate included doesn't quite cover ...
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 8 Gallon Color: Black
I've been waiting to write a review until after a few months of use. 1) I was concerned the substrate would be too hard for my fish, but they've been fine. The amount of substrate included doesn't quite cover the filter but it doesn't bother me. If you're unhappy with the substrate you can always buy a cheap substitute. 2) The opening to the aquarium is smaller, but cleaning hasn't been difficult. 3) I was disappointed the light is very bright and doesn't have brightness settings. The chord pops out prominently from the top, and I wish it was more conspicuous and build into the tank. Additionally, for my tank environment, the light gets covered in algae and requires regular cleaning. 3) The equipment for the aquarium isn't that expensive, especially if you buy something compatible that isn't biOrb brand. Overall I would recommend the tank, especially if you enjoy the design like I do. ... show more

  • Stylish and functional - love this tank!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 8 Gallon Color: White
This tank is gorgeous!! Super easy to set up, and this is my first tank. Yes, it's a bit pricey, especially if you add all the Biorb decor..but I think it's well worth the money! Our little betta is so happy in this tank. Also, I've seen a lot of videos online of people overstocking their 8 gal Biorb tanks with fish. Please do not do this! Do your research before buying a tank and fish! Just because it's 8 gal does not mean you can stuff 20 fish into it. We have one betta fish in our 8 gal, and she is so happy! Please read the instructions that it's a 6 fish max tank; 6 small fish! But we (and more importantly our betta) love this tank! ... show more

  • Horrible filter
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 4 Gallon Color: White
I had high hopes for this tank. I love the design, but the upkeep is out of control. I have one small goldfish in the tank, and I literally have to clean the algae off of surfaces every week. What a waste!! I think the filtration system actually encourages the green growth. I have 2 other tanks of similar size with gold fish in them and they are 1000% cleaner. I wish I could return it :( ... show more

  • An attractive, but impractical tank with an ineffective filtering system.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: 4 Gallon Color: White
I grew up around many different kinds of aquariums. Salt, freshwater, 50 gallon tanks, 150 gallon tanks, etc. I know that this tank is way more difficult to care for, due to it's small size....but, come on! I have let it cycle without a fish for at least 6 weeks entirely away from natural light. Although the filter has been running the entire time, the water has stayed cloudy. All substrate was rinsed thoroughly before adding and water was crystal clear in the beginning- only to become cloudy shortly thereafter and stay that way for nearly 2 months. And, there is not even a fish in it! In my opinion, the filtering system is astoundingly poor and weak. I couldn't imagine keeping a betta in here and being able to maintain clear water. I usually never leave bad reviews, but this is an expensive purchase for something that looks aesthetically attractive, but doesn't do the job it is intended to do. Plus, strangely the top cover has warped now and no longer sits flush. Just bizarre- as the LED doesn't produce much heat. Not sure what's going on there....just a let down. ... show more
