For around $50, this is a good pack for small and fast hikes. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is because the materials and quality of stitching leaves something to be desired. Specially coming from a brand like Salomon that makes such amazing quality products. But I guess backpacks are not one of them? If you can get this for 45 bucks, I'll say go for it. ... show more

As an ultramarathoner, I need to carry a fair amount of: hydration; nutrition; etc. I favor backpacks over running vests due to the simplicity of a backpack. This Salomon pack is lightweight (I measured its weight to be 333 grams). It is cost effective, and it holds everything I need it to. Once adjusted, it does not lose said adjustment. In other words, it "stays put" while I am running. I would say my only complaint is that it seems like Salomon should be able to make a more "race-ready" version of this pack whereby its weight comes in around 250 grams. I offer that with caution because often when a pack is made lighter it then becomes flimsy which makes taking it on and off clumsy and burdensome. So, for my needs, id est, 4-hour+ runs whereby I sling the pack off every hour as I am running to access my water and food, this bad boy is awesome! ... show more
