This is a very nice shoe organizer, making it easy to store several pairs of shoes in a small amount of space while keeping them off the floor. Unfortunately, I have several boxes and other items stacked up on the floor of my closet, so it isn’t able to hang all the way down because it’s pretty long. I’m going to have to reorganize before I can use it the way it’s supposed to be used. But I do like it, and eventually it will come in handy. This is a good closet organizer. The 6-pocket style has compartments approximately 12x12" (1 sq ft) x 8". The main fabric is a non-woven material, similar to some reusable grocery bags I own. It's not the best fabric for durability, but it is inexpensive and will serve the purpose. The same Amazon listing has a 10-pocket style, but that design is for shoes and has smaller compartments. I wanted the one with larger compartments. The Velcro that goes over the rod isn't the strongest. It's pretty easy to rip apart even after pressing down hard to get a good seal. If it is loaded up with too much weight, it might pop apart and fall down. I did not check the maximum weight in any scientific way. It should hold some pants or sweaters just fine, but don't try to load it up with textbooks or anything heavy like that. ... show more
