  • Generator
Size: 5500W
I love this generator it is extremely quiet and you are able to keep conversations without having to yell over the sound. It works amazingly. We have had this for a few years now and have never had a problem with it. The best generator that we have purchased. It can run on a full tank of gas for about 14 hours. It can also run of electricity and it came with a jump starter kit for your car as well. One of the best purchases me and my husband have ever made ... show more

  • Good generator
Size: 5500W Dual Fuel
This is a good generator for the price. It's alot quieter than I thought it would be. I'll be using it to run my trailer with air conditioning this summer. It started right up on propane and I ran it for a few hours to break it in and then changed the oil. Changing the oil is a pain. Have to turn it on it's side and it makes a big mess if you miss the oil pan. Wish they would include a screw-in funnel like my Westinghouse did as it would make it a lot easier and less messy. But overall it's a great generator for the price. I would definitely buy one again. ... show more

  • Outstanding Product, So Far
Size: 5500W Dual Fuel
I have logged about 100 hours on this generator this winter while living off-grid. I run it about 2 hours per day to charge LiFePO4 batteries which, with an inverter, supply all our electricity needs. We have five generators on the farm, and I know equipment. This is a solid, complex machine and I don't think you want to get into it for repairs, so drain the gas at the end of the season and maintain it as scheduled. It electric-starts instantly on gas. On propane, the pull start would take two people, one to hold the genset and one to pull, but hook up the battery and no problem. If propane is hooked up, turn off the tank before switching to gas or it will try to run on both, selector switch notwithstanding. To those who whine about no oil being shipped with the machine, REALLY? Grow up. Have you considered that shipping a little oil might make the shipping more complicated or expensive? No compensation of any kind was received for this glowing review, since that would be dishonest. ... show more

  • Works Great
Size: 5500W Dual Fuel
My 5500w Generator arrived in the box, pretty much ready to go! Added oil which was no bid deal. Got it ready to go and it started on the FIRST PULL! Went through the warm up steps, starting with a light load, medium load and then let it run under a harder load of items plugged in. It worked great! The noise is much quieter than my previous generator. I do love that it has plastic sides to help with the noise and the look of the unit. The handle is great as well! It's a wonderful little generator! I would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • My first generator
Size: 5500W
Now that I am a responsible adult, I thought it was time to get a generator. I got this one as a backup for my house in case of storms knocking out the power AND to use with my RV when boondock camping. It works perfectly. Wish I had bought it sooner.

  • Excellent inverter generator
Size: 5500W Dual Fuel
The media could not be loaded. I like that there is not a lot of extras with this unit (key fob, digital read out) less to have problems with and this gives you a lower price of the unit. Very quiet no problem with the unit. To change the oil you have to remove the battery to drain plug and the square ⬛ rubber plug to drain the oil out of the bottom of the unit. Contacting the seller had no problem doing this threw Amazon. A question they answered for me was fast response. Up date this inverter generator has proven itself on the fifth wheel I have both ac /refrigerator / microwave it has power with no problems. Yes I have soft start on both ac. ... show more

  • Crappy quality
I did like this generator for the first 30 Minutes that it ran. It was quiet, powered my trailer all was well. But then it died when we took it out camping. Couldn't figure it out and I tore some of it apart and I had lost my ignition coil already. Lost my spark. So in an emergency I ran to another town and bought another generator to get through the weekend as this one failed. And waht ticks me off the most is thier warranty is a joke. Wouldn't help with it cause I was outside my 30 days or whatever it is. It's short. So I have this expensive ass generator that just sits cause I can't find an ignition coil for it. He gave me the part number.. but still no luck finding one. But the generator itself, I really liked it I'm hoping to find the right part and use it again. But just bad luck and crappy customer service/crappy warranty ... show more

  • Inexpensive solution
An inverter generator is a must have for the newer refrigerators as they can come packed with sensitive high end electronics. The Bilt Hard inverter generator solved several issues for me. Most importantly it provides cleaner electrical power for all the digital gadgets and appliances we have. Our old Nikota 3500w generator was just a down and dirty machine. It got the job done and still operates flawlessly after 14 hurricane seasons. The Bilt Hard is fairly quiet even before you switch to the Eco mode, it comes with a small tool kit to help get it set up, and its smaller than I expected. I just wish there was a better parts break down. Setup/prep only takes a few minutes and it very easy and you're good to go. Don't forget to remove the 4 brackets from the undercarridge. Be sure to have some 10W-30 oil on hand when to set it up. Also you need to be sure to use fuel stabilizer in the gas and you'll need to run it every 90 days for 15-20 minutes, otherwise you'll void the warranty (yes you read that correctly, some of the parts on this generator are under warranty for 2 years). I also purchased the Asurion warranty just to be safe. It's my hope that this is a super easy unit for my wife to be able to use if I'm not available to set it up. Almost forget, there is a charging cable included. My assumption it that it's intended to be just with your vehicles power outlet. I measured a decibel level 67.2 standing next to the unit (less than 3 feet/1 meter) and 47.6 just inside the house with the unit 20 feet from the door with a smal load. The Nikota idled at 76.3 db. Standing next to it. I connected it to my reliance essential curcuits and flipped the switch on 5 of the 6 curcuitsx, one being the refrigerator. I hope that this helps. In closing I'd like to point out that Nikota was a gamble as well and it turned out to be a jewel with regular maintenance (oils changes and spark plug checks). ... show more
