I use wide tipped markers when labeling boxes so that I can easily see what's inside from several feet away. In fact, I use them for labeling just about everything! The problem with most permanent markers (at least for me) is that the ink simply dries out too fast. I can't speak to the longevity of the BIGTHUMB markers because I haven't owned them long or used them a lot but if they end up having an even shorter life than the other markers, I will be back to update this review. For now, I'm going to assume that they have a reasonably long life and I hope that turns out to be the case because I'm delighted with the way they mark. Because they are paint markers, once the ink is flowing you get great coverage and have the option of making very wide to thin marks with a single stroke. I suppose the life of the marker will also greatly depend upon the size stroke you make with it; for my purposes, the medium to smaller tip is perfect. The one caution I would give is that they do take a bit longer to dry than regular permanent markers because the pens are dispensing acrylic paint rather than ink. Marks are still relatively quick drying but not instant drying so take a bit of extra care, particularly when the markers are first used, so that you don't smudge your work or end up with paint all over yourself! ... show more

These markers are great for making large signs for garage sales, sports games, events etc. The tips of the markers are VERY thick and can cover a lot of ground when you’re looking to make a sign with large lettering. You can turn the tip on its sides and make thinner lines but for me using the full thickness of the tip is where the marker performs the best. The ink is very thick black paint that comes out smoothly and covers on the first swipe. The finished product is a sign that is very visible and easy to read. I would recommend that you allow lots of time for it to dry because the paint is thick, so it takes as while. Overnight would be best. We found that on shiny paper (like sign board) it took longer to dry than it did on matte finish paper. Overall, an excellent product. For the price, this five pack is great to have on hand if you plan to be making signs anytime soon! ... show more

I ordered these for making garage sale posters, which they'll be great for! You start them like any other paint pen (stated on the box) - I tested out the stated different widths that you can use, based on which direction you turn the pen, this is a great feature. I also tried them out on a shiny surface - the marker dried somewhat shiny too, and didn't take too long to dry. Overall, seems like a great product. ... show more

These markers are great so far. They were easy to activate (shake and then pump the tip until it is filled with ink). You can use it with the full broad tip for maximum coverage, or tilt it a bit and use it as a finer marker. The color is very black and I love how quickly I can use it to cover large areas. It is also great for making posters! I was able to quickly "paint" a box, and I was surprised at how quickly it dried. These are easy to prime (depress the marker head to get paint flowing after shaking) and have a great flow. My photo shows the different lines you can make by holding the marker in various ways. This is an Acrylic marker , so think PAINT because it will stain clothing (you could use it on clothes if you wanted to just know what type of material you are drawing on). I used it for some touch ups on a canvas I am painting on to see how it would work and there was little fraying on the end. Easy to use, great coverage and great price. ... show more

And so are these jumbo markers! Or should I say just "markers" because they have 3 different sizes in one - not just jumbo, depending on how you hold and press? These markers have no odor. And though they are water-based acrylic ink, they are waterproof, quick drying, and long-lasting. I liked how smooth the ink flow is. I have to hide these from my wife, the artist, or I'll never get to use them for my "mancave" projects! ... show more

These markers are fun and big and chunky for posters, crafts, signs, and more. The caps are tight and they should last a long time if you keep them closed tightly. The color is pretty dark so making signs are easier, not requiring you to draw the lines repeatedly for a nice dark line. They seem pretty permanent so keep them out of reach for the little ones or your house could look like a Zebra too! Have fun! ... show more
