Purchased 2 of these at 80 feet long... I wonder if that 80 feet was for each or the total combined. Even if it turned out to be 160 ft., I'm ordering a few more, as the Charlie Brown dogwood in the front yard is def. highlighted as a sad little tree with two janky strings. Bottom line: 80 ft. doesn't go a long way in an 8'-9' ft. tall tree with many branches. Installation is easy, and the light is daintily warm (in a good way) in pitch dark. Wiring is flexible. Suggestion via personal mistake? 1) Measure twice with seamstress tape. 2) Charge for 2 days in direct east sunlight and go out with someone else at night when they're ready to hang so as not to kick yourself come sundown. You're literally "blind" in daylight. 3) Consider buying more than you (think you) may need; you can always find some use for the rest. 4) If hanging outdoors, be sure lights/wires and solar capture thing is above weed-eater level. Yes, it'd be nice to wrap all pretty around the trunk, but finding the splice point(s) and mending it/them with electrical tape -- especially if you've got more than 1 unit -- can be maddening. And you never know how many weed-eating nicks you have in the wire until it's dark. Final suggestion: Zip-tie your solar boxes facing as hard-East as possible for longevity even on rainy days. I love the lights and the different modes. I just got them today and it took me 2 hours to put up one strand. They get tangled very easy while putting them up and the copper wire is very delicate. I still have another strand to put up. When they wrapped them up the beginning of the wire is at the end after unwrapping them. Will update after I see how long they last at night...they are pretty...I love the blue ... show more

Edit 18Oct2019: Temporarily installed these in my now completed gazebo to see how well they worked. They are dimmer than I hoped. Not as much ambient light at seat level as I would like. They do provide a cool "starry" effect that I like. Took a picture to try and capture how bright they appear to me. The picture shows some of the gazebo with no other lighting. The bare patio is barely visible in the photo but it is slightly brighter to my eyes. The lights themselves and ceiling are about how bright I perceive them. I may try again to get a better overall representation if that is possible with my camera. So far I still give them 5 stars even though they don't put out as much light as I hoped. That is not their fault. Original review: Haven't yet installed these in my intended application, a gazebo. Gazebo is not built yet. I did a test to see how long the string would stay lit. Hard to say if it was completely charged. I tested it in its received state plus a few hours under a desktop LED light. It doesn't stay the same brightness until it just quits. It runs for quite a long time and then starts getting slowly dimmer and dimmer. So how long it lasts is subjective. At what brightness level is it no longer useful for your application? Hard to tell. I would say that it maintained roughly the same brightness for maybe 10 hours. The lights were still on, although pretty dim and not of much use, at 15 hours. I did open this up to get a look at construction and materials. The battery looks like an AA size rechargeable with a marked 800mAh capacity. It is in a battery holder instead of welded or soldered directly so it can be replaced. Although the construction does not appear to be 100% waterproof, it does at least seem to have attempts at water resistance. There is a rubber o-ring between the top and bottom halves and a rubber grommet to try and seal the exit point of the wires. Additionally, there are two rubber seals over the push button switches for power on/off and mode. The solar cells seem to be well sealed behind some clear sealant. I wouldn't expect the control unit to be totally waterproof but it might survive rain although I might be a bit worried about where the screws attach the two halves, the grommet area around the wire exit and possible the rubber seals covering the switches. As far as operation, there are several light modes with different blinking styles or fading on/off. The default mode is a fast blinking. It is supposed to remember the state it was in but it is not clear if that applies to when the on/off switch is toggled or turning off/on due to light exposure or both. I haven't quite figured out why it sometimes seems to remember its previous state and other times it doesn't, during my informal testing of it at my desk. I'll have to work on that. If the lights are on, when the solar cells are exposed to light the lights turn off (makes sense). There is a two piece plastic spike mount to allow mounting this into the ground and the top of the mount pivots so you can try and get the best sun exposure. There aren't really any other designed for mounting options. We'll see how and where I end up mounting this for the gazebo. One thing I might change if I was designing this would maybe be to put the mode and power switches on the side. This may be more of a challenge from a manufacturing perspective but it would allow me to perhaps mount to the roof of the gazebo by just gluing it or using mounting tape. So far, based on desktop testing, I am very happy with the value of these lights. I will update the review once I have them installed as far as how bright they are for this application and any possible mounting issues. ... show more

These are tiny (half a pencil eraser) lights on a nice copper wire. (wish they had an option for another color... I'll check on that) They wrapped really nicely around a trellis I had, they charged well so far on sunny days and are very bright but warm off white glow, nice that you can turn them on or off and change the modes. I'm glad I bought these, I will buy more to add to other spots around the deck and around wreaths for our windows during the holidays. I hope they last a while and will update if/when they fail. SOOO, I have adjusted the panels. The two strands last a more similar duration.. One strand still stops working sooner than the other but not a LOT sooner anymore. They only stay on for a couple of hours total - basically dusk until 9 or 9:30. I'm not sure why they don't last longer; I wish they did. Maybe it's a problem with the lights or maybe it's something else. I have tried panel in different places. It does seem that one of the panels/strands is "finicky" So they are pretty from dusk for a couple of hours. That is my only complaint. The company DID reach out after my initial review and and offered to refund my money which I appreciated. Initial review below: They look great and I love them for about an hour. After an hour one strand stops working. They are both on the same lattice. The solar panels are charged in the same place. Obviously one of them does not hold a charge. I tried to contact product support. There is none. My only option is to take it down and box it up for a return and replace which is a lot of work for a $7 item which actually should be replaced for free in a low hassle manner. ... show more

I bought these lights to put on the branches that were left from a huge fern I had last summer. I didn't feel like lifting the heavy pot to remove it so I tried to be creative 🤣🤣 Anyhow, I love these lights. They charge quickly and last a long time. Quick and easy.
