  • Does not live up to sharp appearance
Style: Tripod 05C + VX20 Head
I have owned this tripod since August 2021. By all appearances, the build quality is decent. As long as you have it set to shoot in landscape orientation, it should work fine. But beware if you ever intend to use a portrait orientation. My camera and lenses never exceeded the weight limit for the ball mount, but the tripod failed to perform when I needed it during an epic 7,000 mile cross-country trip this fall. The stars and Milky Way were amazing in Yellowstone. I mounted my Nikon Z7 and a 20mm f/1.8 lens - a relatively lightweight setup - to capture the night sky in a portrait orientation. No matter how hard I tightened the knob to secure the ball mount, the camera pivoted with gravity when I attempted to shoot with a portrait orientation. I tried tightening the knob for the ball mount, and I tried shifting the weight of the camera back in the hope that might mitigate the pivoting. No such luck. I had the same issue trying to photograph a waterfall in Great Smoky Mountains National Park two weeks later. I bought this tripod for a more compact version for travel, but I would not trust it again after such poor performance. I also found the lack of a detachable head mount to be an adjustment, but I got used to it. Overall, I am very disappointed with this product. ... show more

  • Survives repeat immersion IN THE OCEAN
Style: Tripod 34C + VX30 Head
I film underwater in 360 - it is close on impossible to find a tripod that is rated for this kind of work. I bought this Benro tripod/ballhead thinking that I would be replacing it every ten dives or so, and even included replacements in my budget. Over the course of the last year plus I have dived it at least 50 times and the thing continues to work perfectly with almost zero maintenance other than washing down with tap water after dives and a couple of squirts of WD40 twice. I am amazed at the durability of this product. The only part that has shown signs of degradation is the sand bag spring hook underneath - everything else works as if it came out of the box. Pretty incredible really! ... show more

  • Great travel tripod
Style: Tripod 05C + VX20 Head
I was hiking in Yellowstone and saw several people carrying this tripod. I had to get one once I handled one. It is light, has various positions and very stable. Good price!

  • Build quality
Style: Tripod 05C + VX20 Head
Picked this over the Peak design tripods. Overall it is light and Great for travel. However it’s flimsy. I don’t care for the quality and would be an issue with weight. With my Pentax 67 it’s an issue. Overall disappointed and expected more.

  • unable to maintian a stable level platform
Style: Tripod 34C + VX30 Head
There is a metal central yoke that the legs attach to. If the attachment point for one of the legs (on the yoke) is bent the tripod legs no longer lock in a position that creates a level shooting surface. This is what happened to ours. we have emailed Benro about and have not received a reasonable response. Especially given their stated position with respect to the warranty (3 years). We have had this for 7 months. I would not recommend spending the money on this item or even buying a Benro P.S. a copy of their Warranty statement: At BenroUSA, we pride ourselves on offering the very best products in our category and will bend over backwards to make sure you are totally thrilled with your new purchase. In order to ensure that, we need you to register your products. Don’t worry. It takes no more than two minutes (and that’s if you’re a slow typer.) I would advise if you are going to Africa or some other demanding location don't get this ... show more

  • Strong, lightweight, stable
Style: Tripod 34C + VX30 Head
This is easy to use, the twist lock mechanisms work well. Nice ball head, turns smoothly. It is stable and seems sturdy. Nice tall height would recommend for tall people.

  • Excellent quality
Style: Tripod 05C + VX20 Head
Beautifully machined parts and extremely high quality materials. Won’t hold up in heavy winds but is perfect for 90% of what I need it for.
