Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Looking at multiple reviews of the polygel kit, it is overall a positive experience for users, with many praising it as a great introduction to the world of at-home nail gel kits. The kit's contents are well-received, particularly the UV light, variety of dual forms, and the quality of tools provided. However, the nature of the polygel specifically drew both positive and negative comments, with the soft, movable consistency more enjoyable for some users and too sticky or messy for others.

Pros

  • 🔆 Included UV light and nail file are highly functional
  • 💅 Quality of brush, spatula, foundation gel, and top coat, are all appreciated
  • 📦 Kit comes with both straight and curved dual forms, adding variety
  • 🌈 Polygel colours in the kit are universally pretty according to users

Cons

  • 🔌 UV light lacks a power adapter, though other solutions can be used
  • 💧 Polygel can be tricky to apply and overly sticky for some
  • ⛏ The polygel is hard to remove and may need a nail drill
  • 💥 Nails done with this kit may snap or break under stress

Should I Buy It?

If you're a newcomer to polygel nails, this kit could be a good starting point. Prospects should note there might be a learning curve and additional necessary tools. Once they're used to the process, users seem to find the kit valuable and enjoyable to use. They should keep in mind that the polygel has a softer consistency, so if a thicker polygel is preferred, they may want to choose a different brand.

  • Great for learning, a little soft
Color: 2-Natural Pink Size: 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
So I started doing my nails myself during covid. Started with press on nail kits and full cover glue on nails. Recently I bought polygel because I thought it looked cool and could give me a much longer lasting manicure. That’s was about a month and a half ago. I’ve done 4 sets if nails since I started using polygel and I get better every time. It takes some practice and sometimes the first coupld nails don’t turn out perfect. I’m completely self taught and watch tutorials but mostly just learned by doing. This stuff was a great size for how much it costs. About twice as much or more than most kits give. Fairly easy to work with, but can get pretty soft if you aren’t careful. I liked this color a lot, natural pink, and I’ve gravitated more and more towards soft pinks lately with polygel than in the past. It’s a cute and neutral color that looks elegant without being too in my face. I like it because the pink is subtle enough but still very pretty. Keep in mind these pictures are both a single layer cured and then several layers of top coat plus the rhinestones. If you built up the layers the color may be more opaque, and mine tend to be fairly thin, just how I like my nail to be, but it could potentially be a stronger color. Overall I’d recommend to anyone looking to start doing their own nails. It’s cheap, can be fairly easy, but takes some practice. I use dual forms or poppits and have yet to try paper forms and sculpting. Just make sure you have the right base and top coats to cure with. I use 75%+ Isopropyl alcohol in lieu of slip solution, since it’s cheap and easy to buy at a drug store. Works great. Lots of patience with polygel, so not for those who aren’t willing to put in the work to learn how to use it. ... show more

  • Really pretty color! Easy to use!
Color: 60g Rose Dew Size: 1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I went from using all gel polish to do my nails to trying out poly gel and I really like using them together! When I do a fill, I file off any lifted product and my color, but not down to the nail bed. Then I use a little base coat, cure, then put on a little bead of poly gel. I find it a lot more easy to work with than just using builder gel, because it's more viscous and doesn't run into my cuticles. It's still tough for me to get the poly gel perfectly smooth, so I do my best with a brush and slip solution, cure, file if there's any weird ridges or mistakes, then do a medium thick layer of builder gel on top to perfectly level it out. This is the result! I'm able to get it nice and thin and less blobby than when I have tried to work with builder gel alone. This color is really pretty on its own, barely pinky with a little glitter, but it also makes a great base to let bright colored gel polishes on top, shine. The tube is quite large too so I imagine I'll be using it for a long time! ... show more

  • Best of 3 polygels I've used
Color: 0-60g-Clear1.0 Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This was my first time using polygel. I tried 2 other brands at the same time, and this one was my favorite. Beetles is consistently a good brand and I've really enjoyed all of their nail products I've bought. I am not a professional, but have been a serious hobbyist for about 10 years. I've tried most of the common manicure techniques, including liquid gel, acrylic, dip, single forms, and press-ons (full and tips). I wanted to try polygel with dual forms because it looked easy and fun. It was relatively easy, but not as much fun as I'd hoped lol. But this product made it so much easier. It's very thick and solid so I could take my time to shape it (brush in alcohol) without it running or slipping. I was not happy with the dual forms (Modelones, too straight with no apex) so I didn't achieve exactly the look I wanted, but overall I'm happy with my first set ever. I painted over the clear polygel with black gel polish, a holographic silver glitter polish, and a top coat. It's only been a day so I can't speak to longevity, but they feel sturdy. I did lose one in less than 24 hours, but I blame the forms, not the polygel. Because they are so straight, I needed to use far more product around my nail's natural apex to eliminate the gap. I didn't know this at the time and so there was a gap which I filled with top coat. Since this isn't how the polygel is intended to be used, I don't blame it for the break (actually it was more of a bend and peel off). I blame the forms. ... show more

Seriously this is like denying I am clumsy. Whenever I break a nail it’s really easy to reconstruct makes me feel I’m not an air sign anymore.

  • Mediocre at best
Color: 0-Clear2.0-New upgrade Size: 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I specialize in poly gel so i have tested out alot of different brands of acrygels. Regardless of cost. I have tested 0.70 cent all the way up to $20.00 bottles/brands of acrygel. (P.S.A - polygel is a brand , acrygel is the product. For anyone thats confused). I have tested quite a bit of generic branded acrygel that has been absoulutly remarkable, and i also have tested high end acrygel that has been crap. Beetles has been a fabulous, affordable brand. With great quality in everything they have put out so far. Until THIS acrygel. I have other beetles acrygels that i love but this one just isnt it. Its sticky, it doesnt want to cure sometimes and other times it does, the clear is more like a milky color, once its cured it leaves a white residue from the alcohol or slip solution ( much like when you put peroxide on your fingertips or gums , that white kind of ashy residue) even when i tried using base gel as the "slip" it disnt work to well. I was so excited for this acrygel and now that i have it im so dissapointed. I have bought cheaper acrygels on aliexpress, temu, shein, ebay, walmart, romwe, wish, and here on AMAZON and those were so much better quality. I would say in the nail industry that if you want good quality products then Purchase the better brands. It is a investment after all. But with polygel i would say that u can find so many cheap really good options. As for THIS beetles polygel/acrygel i DO NOT RECOMEND. Its mediocre at best. U can find a lot of other clear acrygels that work sooooooo much better.. ... show more
