  • Insanely fast, capable, and nearly silent!
Size: SER8 32G/1T/8845HS/Silver
This things is an absolute powerhouse! We are replacing numerous Dell XPS towers with 1050Ti cards with these machines. The NVME drives in these SER8 machines is literally 10x faster than the standard SATA drives in those XPS towers and the CPU is 3-4x faster than their 8th gen i7 CPUs. The integrated graphics is 10-20% faster than the dedicated1050Ti they were using previously. The fact that they come with Win11 Pro (which DOES activate) and 32GB of ram for thar price is unbelievable. As always, I would HIGHLY recommend low-level formatting the drive and doing a fresh Win11 install from an ISO from Microsoft IMMEDIATELY after receiving the PC. Make sure to have all of the drivers downloaded from the Beelink site before you nuke the machine. The 8845HS apparently sips power, because I can't hear the fan spin up at all, even when running burn-in tests. The SER5 with a 5th gen AMD CPU really ramps up while running the same tests, so it's a great example of the efficiency of these newer chips. After exclusively spending a fortune on Dell PCs and extended on site warranties here at work, I think we're going to shift to these guys and just keeping numerous extras on hand. Who needs a warranty when these things are cheap enough to simply replace? ... show more

  • Updated. It's brilliant! If they had more I'd get another one. (GTR7 Pro)
Size: SER8 32G/1T/8845HS/Silver
UPDATED: I was wrong. when I said "It's a great hobbyists machine, but I think it's some distance from being a work workstation yet". It's a great workstation, after the BIOS update provided by the Beelink support guys (mentioned in the old review) it's been absolutely rock solid. It does anything I throw at it. I'm sure there are games that it can't run and I don't do video editing, but it runs multiple VM's at once (A few on Virtual Box and afew on VMWare Workstation, all at once), it runs GNS3 and multiple notes at once it's not had so much as a slight stutter for anything I've made it do. Once I had the BIOS update it was brilliant! It's brilliant. If there were more I'd buy another one. OLD Review: So far the machine has been very reliable and can run most games that I have without a hitch. That said I don't play a lot of games. I have had the machine switch off once and the support team are helping me through that (We're trying to figure out exactly what happend) and I've been asked to clear the CMOS using a somewhat unusual three step process and then reinstall windows with the CMOS cleared. I have also found that the machine won't boot a virtual machine. It just won't boot the installation media, the VM reaches a certain point and then just stops. The same VM (Oracle VirtualBox) works just fine on other hardware, the same "installation media" (.iso file) works fine on other hardware, just on this little guy VM's seem to be an issue (Which I'm sure I'll work with the support team to get working). So, so far it hasn't been an unbox and use experience, it reminds me a little of the eighties when I got myself an Atari PC and had to get interface cards and whatnot to be able to use various of the functions of the PC. This one seems to have a BIOS package which isn't yet complete. That said, what it does do it does well and it's very snappy. I'd happily use a Mini PC instead of the big rig with raid array and graphics card. ... show more

  • By far the best!
Size: SER8 32G/1T/8845HS/Silver
In the past I have purchased Industrial fanless mini pc's because of the robust build quality, built like tanks and last. But recently I was looking for a mini with more IO, most industrial models are lacking in connectivity, Thunderbolt, USB4 (Type-C) etc. I found several reviews for this unit on YouTube. All very positive reviews calling it the best! Not to mention the build quality! All aluminum body for durability and cooling, with fans. Without a doubt the nicest looking PC's as well. Great colors! I could go on and on about the unit but there are a number of reviews on YouTube. I will say that I was so impressed with the built quality, design features and performance of the unit, that I just punched another one. The designers didn't miss anything on this unit, the size is a plus for cooling and the fans, has two M.2 NVME drive slots, DDR5 RAM, HDMI is 2.1, USB 4 (Type-C). Finger print sensor I use each time at startup, functions flawlessly! The rubber feet are a strip, so it doesn't matter if it's an uneven surface. A pull tab to remove the bottom plate, the attention to detail, IO, performance is excellent! Dual 2.5G ethernet is also an important feature, I use both connected in bridged mode. (Win 11 Pro) I watched one review comparing the GTR to another company using the same 7940HS. A smaller, compact "cramped" cheap plastic box. It was unable to match the Beelink performance due to overheating, thermal throttling. I personally like the power supply connector, but some reviews complained about it being proprietary. NOTE: Another important feature. (I found this on the Beelink website) "If you want to use USB4 port (PD3.0 100W) for power supply, please set the TDP to 54W in your BIOS settings and use a PD charger which supports 20V voltage and maximum OCP of 6.32A. Please be sure to connect 120W power adapter to DC port for power supply if you set the TDP to 65W". ... show more

  • Working well in my Proxmox cluster.
I got this to add to my Proxmox cluster made up of a few other Mini PCs. So far it is working well and I like that the power supply is integrated, but the power cord could be longer. The USB ports aren't color coded like usual so make sure you pay attention to where you are plugging devices in. It does prepare for lift-off as the fan spins up. I was also sad to discover that the NICs are only gigabit not 2.5. I think I flipped the "5.2" in the description thinking they were dual 2.5G cards....oh well, it still works and I just added a 2.5G USB adapter. ... show more
