I had a wasp nest on one corner of my house, behind the siding, which I had difficulties getting rid off since I would have to be really close for a chance to spray it with an insecticide, which means that my chances of getting stung by the wasps would be roughly 100%. So, I decided to buy protective gear to protect myself from being stung. It took me a few days to find this one as I was looking for one that was not too expensive and yet had good reviews. And I came across this one. I can confirm that the good reviews I read are true as I got attacked while spraying the insecticide but didn’t get stung. I am an Exterminator and this is ideal for what i need a light weight jacket and does the job which is to protect me from getting stung, as for sizes it does run small i normally am a 2XL so ordered the 5XL and the size was perfect for me.

The media could not be loaded. I really like this jacket…except for the zipper. It took me about 5 minutes to zip up the jacket! I’m not exaggerating here. I would zip it up about an inch at a time and then have to unzip to rezip it. Sometimes it would not zip up until I unzipped two or three inches and then re-did it. I ended up waxing the zipper and that helped a little bit. It was extremely frustrating. The vail zips and unzips as it should. Other than that, the jacket preformed as it should. I tended to my bees and did not get stung. The bees are pretty defensive right now because it’s the end of summer and I was thankful I had the jacket. The jacket is made of cotton and breaths well. The stitching seems to be adequate and all the openings have great elastic to keep them tightly closed. I don’t use gloves, but the gloves that came with the jacket seem like they’re decent quality. As far as sizing goes I’m 5’-10” and about 215 lbs. I normally wear a large. I originally purchased a 2x based on the reviews stating they ran small and I was swimming in it. Interestingly enough, the 2X jacket zipper was fine with no issues. I returned it with no issues and bought the large which fits just right as seen in the pictures. I do have to wear a baseball cap under the vail to keep it from falling past my eyes. I know that is fairly common issue among a lot of bee suits and it’s a nonissue for me. All in all, I think it is a good mid-priced bee jacket. I’m a huge fan of OD green so I’ll keep it. Perhaps their quality control is not the best due to the zipper and sizing issues. I would have given it more stars but the zipper is just too aggravating to give it more. It’s a good thing my life doesn’t depend on how quickly I put on this jacket! 1st year bee keeping and I was already spending so much money when I seen this I had to have it, the price was right. But you get what you pay for! Very nice jacket if you have very calm bees that will not sting you without a suit... i bought hybrid bees that are fairly aggressive if you're in their house and they can sting right through this suit.. This suit is trash to me and on the lookout for a new suit... ... show more
