    • Easy to calibrate and lots of uses -- excellent tool
This device is a delight... fine-grained data, easy to use, and intuitive. Also, huge thanks to the designer, who helpfully answered a couple of geeky questions... A+ support (the unit was fine; my question was about a tricky application). If you're in a situation where you have a rig that is sitting crooked and you don't have a good way to establish an initial level reference, all is not lost. Use a long bubble level on some nearby surface with suitable shims, calibrate the Beech Lane unit to that in both axes (eyeball as best you can, as there are no orthogonal square edges), then go tape it to a visually promising surface. You can also use free sensors/physics apps on most smartphones to give accurate roll/pitch/yaw data, and this can be used to get a good idea of whether said surface is more or less an accurate 90 degrees from the floor in both axes. All this might sound geeky and complicated at first, but it's painless and easy to tweak if you don't get it quite perfect the first time. The goal is to have the app believe that it has been referenced to a level rig. At this point, you can start playing with moving things around (for us, that part was tricky with a very non-flat gravel pad, but we also had the Beech Lane curved leveler kit to make short work of the crowned edge. Here's where you can start iterating to get it perfect. Once the app is showing that you are close, set the brake and do a little reality check with the level (or phone) on the floor or whatever you are using as a reference. When you find that you have it nailed, you can re-establish zero reference on the sensor without going through it all again, and if you wish, shoot in the two screws to keep it right where you put it and be ready to use it for all future parking jobs. But you don't have to attach it permanently... it is a great general purpose leveling tool, and in our case we have a couple of mobile lab trailers that could use a little tweak when I get motivated to hook up and do battle again (but the RV was WAY off, and urgent). I think of this in the same category as digital multimeters, laser thermometers, infrared camerasm and all those other tricorder-gizmos that help you see physical phenomena that are hard to assess by eye. All in all, this is a great product. If I were to make any suggestion, it would be to add a jig that brings out 90° edges so it can be tucked against a ceiling or wall to help visualize "square"... even though that is sometimes marginal in an RV and is not really necessary since you can calibrate it to any position. Incidentally, if you have trim issues on a boat from the unbalanced moments of tankage, batteries, and other heavy objects, it is basically the same problem. You can use this sensor to accurately observe relative roll and pitch while moving things around to get her on her lines. Feedback via the app is very fast, and it is easy to use. ... show more

    • AWESOME PRODUCT - Makes leveling my travel trailer simple - it's a game changer
If you have a travel trailer, you have to get this, it's a game changer. No more walking around the camper to see the little bubble levelers, just connect my phone and I can look at the phone while I'm adjusting each jack on the trailer. IT cut set up time tremendously. It was super simple to set up, just have to level the trailer using a regular building type level, them go in the ap and tell it that it's level, it set it internally and the system now knows that that is where level is, so when you use it next time, you just go into the ap and it will tell you if the driver or passenger side is high or low and front to back if it's high or low, you make your adjustments and you're good to go. ... show more

This is worth every penny! Once I leveled my trailer and mounted this, life is easier. I like it so much I bought another as a gift. Easy to use. Once the app is installed and you have the leveling calibrated, you just open the app right before you start parking your trailer and watch your phone. I use cantilever blocks to level and setting the trailer couldn't be easier. I also used it to check if I had too much weight on one side instead of evenly distributed. I have a cap on the back of my pick up with a bed set up for short (so far) 3 to 4 day overnight stays. It doesn't matter if you're in a Class A or a truck cap you still need your bed to be level for a comfortable night's sleep. After watching and reading several reviews on the device, I decided to order one as I camp alone and this will save a lot of time in and out of the truck checking a level in the truck bed while driving up and down ramps. All I can say is, this device is amazing! Easy to set up and use. After reading a few reviews vs using the device myself below are a few comments... 1. Setup couldn't be easier-a big plus that the manufacturer does not require you to create a silly account to use the app and device. Plus the app has no ads or pop ups. Super happy about that. 2. Concern over battery life-Since the unit goes into a deep, deep sleep mode after the app is closed, battery life should not be an issue. When the device detects connection to the app, it instantly awakens. Plus the battery percentage is displayed at the top of the screen. Personally, I prefer the AA battery setup vs hardwired 12v as it's easier to install and AA batteries can be found anywhere. KISS 3. The device has a built in thermometer that displays the compartment's temp on the app screen-could be a useful feature if storing items in that compartment that are temp sensitive. 4. Lack of a flat surface on the device case itself for leveling the device-this is not an issue. When installing, anyone can see that the device is somewhat straight. It's all the device needs as you will go thru a "set as level" step when setting the app up so it will automatically correct for a device that wasn't installed straight. Again, couldn't be easier. 5. The included #4 mounting screws are a bit small- yes they are, but I assume the intention of the mfg was not to create large holes in the compartment wall if the the device is removed. I mounted mine to a painted piece of 1/2" plywood that was first mounted to the side of the truck bed with self tapping sheet metal screws. 6. Made in the USA-with USA support in NC, what more needs to be said? This unit is a bargain at $79.99 and is just one more thing that makes life easier when camping alone.     • Leveling your RV becomes easy peasy.
The Bluetooth signal range is very good. I can can easily connect with the device from my car. I mounted it in the pass thru storage area, but it seems like it could mount inside the RV easily. The instructions via the app are very easy to follow. Calibration was a snap. It was fun watching the pitch change while un hitching the RV. It shows you how much the RV is off do you can plan leveling blocks strategy. ... show more
