      • I love not having to open the hive to feed!
    This feeder fits inside lids with round holes. It has a lip on the inside that drops down into the opening in the inner lid so the bees can't slip out between the feeder and the lid; in other words, the bottom is NOT flat. It works great with our inner lid that had a circular opening, and we made a shim from a piece of plastic cardboard with a round opening that fits on top of the oval opening of our other inner lid. We built 4" deep shims that fit on top of the inner cover and under the telescoping lid so the feeder has room. These have been working great, and it's so much easier to feed than opening the whole hive to fill the in-hive feeder we used to use. ... show more

      • Easy to fill
    I like the size just a bit to large to fit in a nuke box but made a modified spacer and it works great.

      • Holds 2 1/2 Pints, Not “About 4 Pints”
    The description states that the feeders hold “about 4 pints.” If 2 1/2 pints is “about 4 pints” then the description is accurate, but in my mind it’s not. Maybe Bill Clinton owns stock in this company as they seem to be good at twisting the truth. As other reviews state you will have to cut a larger hole in the inner cover to accept feeder hole, but I was prepared for that. The bees have taken to it well, I just wish I didn’t have to fill it as often. ... show more

      • Convenient. Easy to fill up
    Bought 2. In one hive, some bees drowned in the sugar water. In the second hive, they didn't. I covered the center knob with a cutoff cotton sock in the first hive. That wicked up the sugar water and they didn't drown. Worked great. Easy to fill. The cover keeps bugs out.

      • Many drowned bees, and doesn't work with regular inner cover
    There are a few major problems with these feeders that make them impractical. First, they do not sit properly on a regular inner cover. The center of the feeder protrudes too deep, so you'll need to drill your inner cover build a custom one. Second, the yellow plastic surface is very smooth and the bees tend to slide off, result in many drown bees. I've found many drowned bees when refilling these, meaning you need to remove the feeder to remove the dead bees. As a bee keeper I do not recommend this product. ... show more

    These feeders are super simple and effective. Fed my hives easily and without any bee drowning like some other feeders.
