I have been researching various mattress toppers for a while and decided to purchase this one due to the good reviews. I purchased this queen size topper for multiple reasons. Mainly because my mattress is almost 15 years old and really needs to be replaced when my budget will allow someday. Also, I need something firmer to alleviate my aching back every morning. This topper arrived quickly, in a large box, well packed, and with instructions for easy set-up. It didn't take long to put it in place, and it fit my bed perfectly. I tested it and loved the firmness and comfort immediately. However, there was a strong chemical smell that made me hesitant to sleep on it that night. The directions said that since it was condensed in compressed packaging, that it could take a day or two to get into proper form/shape before using. So, I figured that the smell would also go away during that time. But after 3 days with the chemical smell still obvious, I contacted Amazon. They told me that nothing could be done unless I returned it. But, I really didn't want to return it because it seemed like a really good topper. Disappointed with not yet being able to use it, I then contacted the BedStory company. They immediately responded and provided additional information regarding how the smell will go away and that it is made of all natural materials and 100% safe. In addition, they kindly provided me with a very nice partial credit back to my charge card and followed up with me twice! Such wonderful customer service! It has now been 8 days and the smell is very faint and will probably be gone within the next few days. I have been sleeping on it for the past 3 nights and 1 am very happy to say that it has been a relief for my old back. I sleep better and wake up feeling much better. Nothing will take away all of the aches and pains. But, this mattress topper has made a huge difference in my comfort. So far, I like it! Got my dad a 4-inch topper a few years ago. It added too much height to the bed and was too squishy. This is a better one and good at 3-inches. It is also offered at a 4-inch but the "firm side" is still only 1-inch on the 3-inch and the 4-inch model. I think the 1-to-2 ratio on the 3-inch makes more sense. I'm using the "firm side" up but you can also use the softer side up. I like the firmness and chose this topper because there is a firm side. But it's not too firm. Just enough to give some support. I slept well the very first night. Has straps to hold in place, however, still moves just a bit if you consistently enter/exit on one side of the bed. Other review correct that it's cut a tad large. The seller responded to my first review asking me to send a picture of the measurement, which I did. They responded by offering me a $40 credit for the incorrect measurement. That is great customer service and I've added a star as a result. Original Review: First off, it's not 3 inches it's barely 2 1/2. But of course don't expect the seller to give you any credit. I like a firm mattress but this is too firm even for me. It's hard, not firm. Big difference. But since you can't return it, I added another soft cushy mattress topper that I had that is more like a mattress pad and that helped a lot. It's comfortable now and fortunately my sheets still fit. My old mattress was getting a little too soft and I was having some back issues so I ordered this. It is very comfortable, soft but supportive. This was a great purchase and wish I had got it sooner! It is the best topper have i purchased/used. I highly recommend this product.

I am assuming that I am not the only person on the planet to find a Sleep Number bed as too soft even at 100%. Used to wake up with neck and shoulder pain every morning and I half-joked with my wife that sinking into the mattress made me feel like a taco. This topper solved all that on the first night. This topper is way firmer than I thought it would be. Probably my mistake since my last topper was medium firm and I wanted one just a bit firmer. I spent one night on it and was in pain all night long from how hard it was. And that was on the side that was suppose to be not as firm as the other. Even my husband said t was hard as a board. Otherwise I must say it's a really nice product and comes in a cover and has straps to anchor it to your mattress. If it only hadn't been so uncomfortable I would be thrilled with it including the price. The only other con I have is it's a few inches on each side bigger than my queen mattress. ... show more

I decided to get this because every morning I woke up with a horrible back pain. After 1 night of using this mattress, my back pain reduced dramatically. It’s firm, yet comfortable and provides great support. Now, I’ve been using it for about a 2 weeks and love it. Definitely value for your money.

I purchased the 3inch topper, assume the measurements were taken by a man as it’s 2inches not 3. I let it air out for 72 hours, had a bit of a smell to it but that dissipated quickly. Very comfortable, has helped my back a lot, as my mattress is too soft.
