  • Fantastic Results
My 5600X was idling at 50 (C) degrees. Replaced the Wraith cooler with this. Idle temperature dropped to 36 degrees. Beautifully constructed. Fan is near-silent at 50%. Comes with thermal compound already applied. Smaller size means it will fit in almost any case. Extremely easy to install, especially if your motherboard is out of the case. Mine was in the case, and it was difficult getting at the clamps. Highly recommended for your 65-watt AMD processor. ... show more

  • Fits in most any case and is very quiet and super easy to install!
The Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 Slim is an aesthetically good looking unit. It's quite affordable compared to other comparable products from other vendors. It cools up to 130 Watts TDP, so make sure you check your CPU's TDP Wattage to make sure this cooler can handle it. Thermal paste is pre-applied and the default brackets setup is for AM4 AMD CPU's. They do include brackets for Intel CPU's, but it's a less eloquent mounting system than the default AMD mounting system. It comes with a 92mm fan, which helps with its compact size but still affords great (and quiet) cooling, airflow and overall performance. This product would not be good for extreme overclockers as you could potentially exceed the maximum TDP Wattage this fan is rated for. However, if you either leave your rig stock or even do mild overclocking, this fan should be more than sufficient for your needs - and at a very affordable price. ... show more

  • Quiet and cool!
This fan, combined with two 140mm case fans, has kept my server at room temperature for a few months straight. It installed easily, looks clean, and runs quietly. I was worried it would get warm because the heat pipes are so long before the heat sink starts, but it hasn't been an issue. Mounting the fan to the heat sink is a little awkward, and I wish they had included another set of fan brackets in case I wanted to mount another fan (but after using this for a few months, another fan wouldn't have been necessary). ... show more

  • It's simple and OK if your cpu is relatively low-power, but...
I picked up an i7-13700 cpu. Not one of the high-performance gaming chips. The baseline power draw is relatively low. The plan is to use this machine for image storage, and various self-hosting thing with a touch of AI, etc. Well, idle temps were OK. I started pushing images into the machine, which triggered various processes. The temps hit the cpu limit, 100c, almost immediately. They dropped right back down when the image processing ended. I'm not very familiar with the DIY server community, and some of the threads I found suggested that this was just how high end cpus worked. Well, I bought a different cpu cooler as an experiment, basically. I honestly didn't expect a very different result, but I was totally wrong. Temps at full load are barely above 60c. At rest, they're barely above room temp. This cooler is fine, but understand that it's only good for relatively lower-spec cpus. That doesn't mean its a bad product. I'm only dinging the review because the instructions are confusing. The cpu paste is already applied. That's fine, but the instructions imply that there's a film over the paste that needs to be removed, but in reality, the only thing covering the paste is the plastic cover that it comes in. I found that out the hard way. Touching the paste, trying to remove the "film" that doesn't exist. I didn't scrape off much, just a bit in the corner. The warnings about toxicity of the paste didn't make me feel great once I got a good chunk under my fingernail. I don't think I scraped off enough to impact performance, but still. The unit is good if you don't need crazy cooling. The instruction should be better. ... show more

  • Always Reliable
This is my go-to air cooler and has always performed well. Easy to install and runs well.

  • Cheap plastic tabs for mounting
The mounting system uses small plastic tabs that bend easily and are difficult to align and use properly. Also, the package I received was not new as there were loose parts and the protective covering on the heatsink was missing. I can not comment on performance as I was never able to get the heatsink mounted securely with the plastic tabs constantly bending. I finally gave up. I have used many heatsinks in the past and this is one of the worst I have used. ... show more

  • Brought temps down 10deg C from OEM cooler... with a catch.
I'm a hobbyist PC builder and bought this for a work computer that was constantly screaming at me regarding PC temps. The OEM cooler I've had wasn't cutting the mustard and decided to upgrade to this. I tried installing the cooler with the included thermal paste and because of either not thick enough pasting or my inability to properly install it, it only mounted to a small portion of the CPU and made everything worse. After I cleaned off the provided paste and added some Noctis paste, it had zero issues. Overall, it brought down my average temps about 10deg C and runs very cool. Fits nice inside of the medium sized case I have. I had to take out the ram and graphics card in order to properly install it, but a small price to pay for good cooling. The included fan is virtually silent even under heavy loads caused by graphics and structural analysis programs. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Great Cooler for retro PCs
This is probably the single greatest cpu cooler you could put onto a vintage pc of 10-15 years ago. It is exceptionally quiet. The design goes upward instead of sideways, so your ram or other chips are not crushed, which is what would happen with 98% of all modern cpu coolers going on a older system. The cooling performance is outstanding, it dropped a amd 1090 BE by 30+ degrees beyond the previous cooler, enabling some overclock room on a previously stuck system. Installation is by default design for AMD and uses the traditional easy clip on system, but also includes kit for using INtel also. It is rated to cool 130w, which covers all AMD up through the highest AM3 chips and on in to most AM4 Ryzen systems ... show more
