Two layers of nickel-plated mesh create a fine straining surface, while two heavier metal wires support the underside of the basket. The scoop part of the basket is connected with metal supports to a one-inch-thick wooden dowel handle. Overall, the device measures 30 inches in length, while the round basket measures 11 by 5 inches. When the feast is over, the basket can be rinsed under a hose or washed by hand.
