  • Perfect!!

Had the same lobster pot for 20 years but it sprung a leak. This one is perfect for corn on the cob, steamers, lobster….you make it! Well made

  • Incredibly thin and fragile, arrived with dents, don't believe it is Stainless
Color: Stainless Steel
Look at our reviews and profile, we've been with Amazon since it was just books and video's and have written many reviews. We do not do any of those "We'll send you this free if you write a good review for us" deals. This is a REAL review. And this pot... really is awful! When I picked up the box, my immediate reaction was "Uh oh, this feels more like Aluminum, it's as light as air!" I unpacked it next to my existing 20qt SS stock pot/canner (Cook N Home brand) and this 30qt pot weighed less than 1/4th what the smaller pot did! The cardboard box it came in weighed more than the pot! Part of this has to be how thin it is... where the handles had been welded, there were sizable dimples/puckers in the metal! Unsurprisingly, the bottom had dents and dings... how could it not? My God, how can you make a pot out of what is essentially a few layers of foil and pretend that it is going to last more than a week in the kitchen? Outdoor usage over a 30,000 BTU propane burner? I'd be surprised if it did not completely buckle. Is it Stainless at all? I have to doubt this. Not only is the pot not stamped "Stainless Steel" ANYWHERE and its density is far less than regular old carbon steel... and all stainless steel is MORE dense than normal carbon steel or iron, not less! I wonder... when they say "Stainless Steel construction" does this mean that only the handles are SS, perhaps, just that is uses SS, but not that it is entirely made of it? Or, perhaps it is the really low grade stuff, the stuff cheap flatware is made of, the stuff that is only rust resistant and is still magnetic? I'd have scrambled an egg in it or sprayed it with salt water to see if the eggs turned color or the pot rusted, but I wanted to be able to return it. I did put a magnet on it and was completely unsurprised when it stuck strongly (stainless has lower magnetism than iron. Now, if you were to use this only at low temperature as in brewing or slow-cooking/making stock ONLY... OK, MAYBE it would be OK, though it would still dent the minute you look at it. I fault myself for not noticing that it did not specify 18/8 or 18/0 stainless, so I'll give back one star. Still, a very "buyer beware" experience! ... show more

  • Super useful
Color: Stainless Steel
This is probably the best investment a new brewer can make for reasons that are not obvious. Obviously it can be used for stove top extract brews. But I use it to heat sparge water for all grain brewing. THEN I use it as a fermenter bucket! I don't bother with clamping the lid airtight and installing an airlock. The lid sits nicely and acts like an airlock. It's easy to access the brew for samples or dry hopping etc. Super easy to clean and sanitize. The fact that it is thin metal makes it easy to carry with 6 ga of beer in it! The handles have been fine even with the small amount of weld they have. I have two and make ten gallon batches. I know this is not 'traditional' practice. But I have had great success with it. The size is perfect for fermenting with lots of room for the krausen. ... show more

  • Good Value but Handles Feel "Iffy"
Color: Stainless Steel
Definite improvement over the aluminum kettle I was using. I would give it five stars but the welded handles don't have a solid feel and make me nervous. Having one break off when moving 6 gallons of boiling wort would pretty much ruin your day. Minus 2 Stars. I don't know if it was on purpose but they included a nice brew thermometer with my order, which is terrific. Plus 1 star. ... show more

  • The welding on the handles is good, though a little sloppy
Color: Stainless Steel
This is a very affordable kettle. I have been using it for BIAB home brewing with 3g and 5g batches on my stove. It is wide enough to fit on two burners on my stove, which cuts down on boil time. The welding on the handles is good, though a little sloppy, and shouldn't fail when it is full of boiling liquid and your lift it up. ... show more
