I use this on two Vehicles with V-8 Engines and pretty big batteries. It takes its time to get to the top if the vehicle hasnt been used and the battery is not at the top. But if you keep it connected constantly, as it is intended, it is perfect. A big battery can easily take 24 hours or more if its a bit weak to get into full charge. But remember its not intended for that. But you keep your vehicle connected, dont use it for a couple of weeks and when you crank the engine, it cranks at full power. Excellent product. ... show more

Car batteries are not as good as they used to be. I have quite a few cars that are not driven regularly and I have these installed on all of them (for several years now), and have never had an issue, or a dead battery since, now that I think about it.

I use this to maintain my emergency generator's battery. Once the wiring harness was connected to the battery, I plugged it into an outlet in my garage and it keeps the battery topped up. It's safe, I don't have to worry about leaving it plugged in 24/7. I've had it connected for 3 years and whenever I test the starter, it fires up immediately. I used another one on my Polaris RZR side-by-side. Because I store that at a cabin, it goes months without use, and starts reliably every time. During COVID, I went 14 months without even trying to start it, but it started immediately. I'm an enthusiastic fan of Battery Tender devices. I like the "Battery Tender Jr." ... it's simple and it works. I bought a more expensive "Battery Tender" and it quit working after a week! The "Jr." model works great and is less expensive.
