  • Extends the life of your blow out and adds volume to thin hair.
Size: 6.73 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Divine Dark
I love this colored dry shampoo. I love that it doesn’t leave a white residue. It adds volume to my hair and It has a pleasant mild scent that doesn’t seem to irritate my allergies. A little bit goes a long way too.

  • I. LOVE. This stuff. And I've tried them all.
My hairdresser has been yelling at me for years for washing my hair daily. He told me about dry shampoo, and that I should use it, but I just couldn't get the hang of it/get over the "feeling of clean" that I got from washing my hair every day. About three years ago, I chopped off all my (dead, dry, brittle) hair and started growing it again from my chin, and slowly started whittling down the number of times a week I washed my hair. My hair is now past my bra strap in the back, shiny, strong, and I wash my hair once every 5 - 7 days, and the ONLY reason is because of this stuff. I have fine, thick hair (meaning a lot of it, but the individual strands are fine) so the "bodyfying" effect in this stuff is great. I have very dark brown (but not black) hair. First I used Tresemme, Salon Grafix, BedHead, Big & Sexy, Suave (though I do LOVE their dry conditioner), the old school L'oreal stuff, the "Not Your Mother's" dry shampoo, cornstarch, baking soda, cocoa powder... but I keep coming back to this stuff. Here's why: 1. The TINTED powder. For someone with dark hair, my beef with dry shampoo has always been the greyish whitish nasty dull residue that builds up in my roots that while my hair doesn't look greasy, does look like I rubbed ashes in my hair. This stuff, with the dark tint, absorbs the oil and keeps my hair the dark color it should be. 2. It "poofs" things up. Like another reviewer, I'll sometimes use this in my clean hair, just a squirt at each temple, to add some extra oomph. But when I'm using it on days 2, 3, 5, whatever... it keeps my hair lifted (does that make sense?) and feeling fresh. Before, other dry shampoos would keep it from looking greasy, but I'd still lose the body after day 2, so I'd end up wearing my hair up after the second day. This stuff, I can get 4 or 5 days of down styles. 3. The feeling. The cold "psssht" when you spray it on your scalp has a nice cool rush that helps your scalp feel clean, even if it isn't. I don't mind the smell, though some reviewers seem to. Tips: I wear a shower cap, and then when I'm out of the shower, I use a round brush and my blowdryer to quickly (we're talking 30 seconds) dry my roots where the water seeped under the cap when I washed my face. Then I use quick little blasts on my whole hairline around my face. This is enough for the next day after washing, but on days 2 or 3, I'll separate my hair into sections about 2" wide and spray there, focusing mainly on my natural part. Then I pull my hair back out of my face and WAIT. Don't brush it right away! I usually do my makeup, or get dressed, or make a cup of coffee, whatever, but let it sit for a minute. When I'm ready, I BRUSH it through my hair, not rub with my fingers. WARNING: This stuff DOES leave a dark powdery residue on fingers if you rub it in. It washes right off, it's never stained any of my clothing, but it is gross if you get it under your nails and then don't notice until later. I use a paddle brush to distribute it, "scrubbing" lightly, but not so hard to tangle my hair. I think this helps with the lift. Then I round brush style my hair and boom - clean, shiny, voluminous hair. Sometimes when I roundbrush my hair near the scalp, there will be little dark dusties from this stuff, but I just brush them off with a makeup brush. I actually love my hair on the second day more than the day I wash my hair now; it styles better and holds the style better. If you have long hair, I'd recommend a dry conditioner after the first couple of days, if you use a lot of heat styling like I do. Helps keep your ends hydrated. Bottom line, I love this stuff. I have long hair, and one can usually lasts me about a month. Not as cost effective as just washing your hair more, but for the time it saves me every day (washing my hair adds 45 minutes with washing, conditioning and blowdrying and styling to my morning routine), it's totally worth it. I even keep a can in my gym bag for post workout lifts, if I need them. ... show more

  • WAS A GODSEND - NEW FORMULA GOOEY
. JAN 2014 UPDATE : They have changed the ingredients. My 4 star review from 2012 below is forced down to a 2. HAD TO UPDATE -- depressing. The new formula for "MEDIUM BRUNETTE" is now as gooey and thick as the "DARK BROWN" - doesn't do a good job at all - and colors what-ever you lay your head on by the second day. It didn't use to back in 2012 to first half of 2013. ** If you find the original bottle of "MEDIUM BRUNETTE" - a LIGHT BROWN colored bottle in stores - then buy it ! This original formula from Batist works beautifully. BUT BEWARE : the websites are still showing the original light brown bottle PICTURE ..!!! But I keep getting the "new", sticky, gross formula in the silvery bottle when I've bought from them; don't buy the old version from a website - that's just a picture. So far I can't find them in production except left-over in stores. ** May they read this hopefully and return to the original formula - ____________________ 2012 ORIGINAL FORMULA REVIEW (for the *original* BATISTE MEDIUM BROWN) (LEAVING THIS IF YOU FIND ANY ORIGINAL BOTTLES IN THE STORE.) - Does *NOT* color your whites; it just takes oil out. - Does NOT come-off on bedding / clothes / or anything your hair touches. Fantastic.. But it will get under your nails after 2-3 days of use when scratching your head. - Put on in bath / washable area; the brown spray will coat surroundings. - I use earplugs, close eyes, and hold breath when spraying; who knows what this stuff is.. - If you're prone to ACNE you may want to clean face and neck afterwards with something like a FAB Facial Radiance Pad; the spray gets all over and it aggravated my acne on my neck and back until I used these pads after each spray. - It gives great volume. To keep - barely brush hair afterward. .. My hair is very, very oily -- On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst) I hit a 20 after one day. The oiliness has forced me to wash it daily, for years. Plus I color my hair; this daily washing dulls the hair, and removes what-ever color I put-into it within 2 weeks. .. AMAZING PRODUCT. For me -- no white residue after use. Do not hold can next to head; follow instructions. 3-4 bottles are needed for one month with heavy use.. One bottle lasts about 5-8 days depending on how heavily you use it. This has allowed me to only wash my hair once every 3-5 days. The light brown formula now has a scent as of November 2012 that smells pretty good, and can be used on dark brown hair. .. IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS LIKE I WAS : It says to spray 30 cm away from your head (approximately 1 foot). Do this -- by sections -- I spray my right temple area, rub that section in, spray again in a slightly different area, etc... about 10-20 times or until my entire head feels nice and dry of oil. The massaging of the stuff into the scalp as requested makes it feel like you're "scrubbing your hair". It's a surprisingly calming perk that makes me look forward to my sprays. Some companies claim that it's good to massage your scalp for blood circulation / hair growth. Either way it feels really good to me. It also adds body to my hair -- if I don't brush it out completely. It does NOT feel like "clean" washed hair however; it feels like there is thickening product in your hair. It looks very clean, and I've received compliments on its "healthy" look. .. I PUT IT ON IN THE SHOWER and close the door / shower curtain -- There is a thin film of color residue in the air that WILL LAYER on your sink and floor. Even the LIGHT BROWN does this. It's tough to see, but it is there and will collect on your carpet / sink / neck-back / you name it when you spray. You'll see it when you throw water on over your shower / bathtub afterwards. ALSO : I put earplugs in -- and close my eyes as well as hold my breath. Who knows what chemicals you're putting into you as you spray it all over your head.. Note the coating on the bathtub. Afterwards I now finish off with one steady spritz around my entire head with SG ( Salon Grafix ) Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo - to take the Batiste smell away . . SG Dry Spray Shampoo is too heavy for my oily hair - by day 2 my hair is matted with SG product. But it does smell better. So I mist it once in the air over my head after a thorough spraying of Batiste. One SG bottle lasts forever if used in this way. .. I get about 5-8 "days" of use -- That's 5-8 days x 15 squirts per day = about 1 week / 75-120 squirts per bottle at the least. .. My guess is that it combines with the oils and then becomes dust, as this dusty stuff does fall out onto my brush afterwards, and when I scratch my scalp 2-3 days into it I find the dusty stuff under my nails. HAIR STAYS SHINY WITH USE. I USE IT FOR BODY - even right after washing / blow-drying my hair I give a quick couple of squirts for body. YOUR FINGERS DO NOT TURN BROWN. YOU DO HAVE TO WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER APPLICATION. This is not common; most dry shampoos turn everything brown. No trail of brown on my pillows, fingers, or chairs I lean against with this one. AND AS NOTED ON THE SECOND-THIRD DAYS YOUR NAILS WILL GET BROWN UNDER THEM IF YOU SCRATCH YOUR HEAD. Comes-off easily. Still no residue on clothes /etc. .. DOWNSIDE : As of November 2013 it smells it smells alright. My mom still says it smells like "hay" :) "ORIGINAL" CLEAR / "MEDIUM" / AND "DARK" ALL WORK ON DARK BROWN HAIR -- no white residue -- I use the "Medium Brown" on my dark brown hair; the consistency is lighter than the darker spray on thin hair. .. THE TEST -- In any case I decided to do a trial to see how well this stuff works - and for how long. I went 3 days of not washing my hair, which included gardening in the hot sun for hours (and hours), hitting a hard work-out at the gym - spraying my hair after each oily incident - jogging. Nice nice nice results.. The third day of no washing with a second bout of 4 hour gardening in afternoon sun finally broke the spell of magic and I had to wash. Not bad -- !! For me -- this product is a godsend. .. The only thing that would sway me from this product is if another came to the scene with a better scent -- and more squeezed into the bottle, along with all the other perks this already has. ... show more
