I have a pit... the ONLY time he barks continually is when he's at the water. For you to throw his stick...it CAN become monotonous when others are around. THAT was the purpose of this purchase... needless to say IT DOES NOT WORK... his ears went up when I hit the button BUT IT DID NOT STOP THE BARKING NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I HIT THE BUTTON...DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND ... show more

The fact that it uses battery it’s kinda a let down. Otherwise it seems to work pretty well to teach your dog to not bark even when the wind from the vent is blowing.

    • Excellent Product!!!
The two new, 1 year old puppies would not stop their incessant, shrill, any-excuse yapping. Tried with limited success the old command-reward method which was moderately successful but not enough. I ordered and recieved Barkbegone; out of the package, installed battery, pushed button once, all within the space of 4-5 minutes, and both dogs looked up and were paying attention. So, I guess it works. Next step; actual training. Two or three barks, the command, "ENOUGH", then one touch of the button and the command, "ENOUGH"and then a treat for compliance. Took about 3 sessions (by which I mean, three times of using it, once each time) and they were now responding 90% of the time to "ENOUGH" The other 10% of the time is when they have been startled, or have picked up some vibe or behaviour that I'm not gettting. So, I have to give them a pass and chalk it up to them doing their job. But for the extraneous, or extended-for-no-decernable-reason barking......it works great. ... show more

    • Probably best for dogs that aren’t stubborn
I worked extremely well for the first two weeks we had it. Unfortunately, our other dog would leave the room because of course she didn’t like the noise either… After about two weeks, our other dog got used to it and stopped leaving the room. At first, I was happy it wasn’t bothering the other dog, but then… The dog we are trying to train began ignoring it… Barking at other animals right through the tone.     • It worked great for a few days then quit working
I loved the product when we first got it. My dog quit barking and quit being aggressive toward my husband immediately when we pushed the button. But that only lasted a few days and then it didn’t seem to work at all any more. I think it’s defective and I would like to exchange it for a new one!

    • Very poorly made!
The media could not be loaded. We bought this in July and didn’t use it very often but when our grandkids came over we needed it because the dogs were chasing them and jumping on them and we have large dogs. The on button just fell in so now it is not usable! The window for return is closed

    • It really works.
We have 4 dogs. Our small chiweenie and a puppy both who will bark excessively the other two are older and well trained. I bought specifically to stop the crazy barking of the small and young ones. I have used the sound only a few times and now all I have to do is hold it up and they stop. It also works to stop jumping and other bad behavior in my puppy. They still bark but at least when they start, it’s a show of the remote and they stop. We tried everything, bark collars and other collar related products, but this is so much better. I wish it was a permanent fix but I will take what I can get. ... show more
