This kit was a very nice surprise! The variety, amazing details and high quality of the dinosaurs were remarkable. It far exceeded my expectations. Everything needed was in the kit and was good quality. The paint covered well and the brushes were good. The picture shows the first coat Of two dinosaurs drying. My grandson plans to add other colors for details once dried. The size of the dinosaurs was really good for small hands to manipulate. He loved just play acting with the unpainted ones waiting for the ones he painted to dry. As a grandmother and dinosaur novice, I was happy to see the dinosaurs’ names with pictures on the box. If my grandson completes two dinosaurs a day he will have several days of creative art and then can make a dinosaur park or display after all are finished to further ignite his imagination. He was very proud of his work! We have already been researching some of the dinosaurs we did not recognize in the kit. I will certainly buy this kit again for gifts to other Dinosaur and art loving children. ... show more

Our playgroup had children as young as 3 and as old as 15, and they were all excited to get their own dinosaur to paint. There were a couple of kids in around 6-7 that quit early and their moms ended up doing it while we chatted, but the younger kids were some of the most dedicated, so I suppose you need to know your audience. We did use the enclosed paints and they were fine, but we also used some acrylics, and they worked fine on these too- I'm not sure what kind of paint was included. There were a couple of sharp little spots where they didn't come smoothly off the mold, but those can be sanded off if they are a concern. Overall, I was really impressed with these dinosaurs, especially at the price they were offered. The kids were surprised that they would get to paint an actual toy and not just some kind of picture, and were very pleased to go home with their loot. It was a win! I like that all of the dinosaurs were a different breed. It was great inspiration of a scientific discussion, and could have been made into a unit study if I had been more on the ball. I bought two sets. One from this seller and then one from another seller. One big difference was that these dinosaurs were smooth. I saw no issue with this HOWEVER the other set was unicorns and they had a slight felt to them so that made them easier to paint. The paints provided were nice and honestly all the kids loved painting them. We've had them for a few months now and the kids actively play with them and a lot of the paint has faded and is gone. That's wasn't a big deal to me but if it's a big deal to you then maybe look elsewhere. The unicorn felt set I also bought still looks pretty similar to what they were originally painted as so maybe look for a painting set that has a felty surface rather than a smooth one. ... show more

These were easy to use. Nice assortment. They only come with two sets of paints, however. So kids have to be in close proximity. That madeit challenging at times. Kids are messy. But they had fun with this. I had other paints I added to the mix. But they should have provided more - one set per dinosaur. ... show more
