This version of the Exia was supervised by its creator Kanetake Ebikawa and features custom markings. All of Exia's equipment is included, with melee weapons having chromed blades and GN condensers feature transparent plastic. New Advanced MS Joint allows feats of impressive movement to replicate combat scenes in the Gundam 00 anime series. • Amazing, articulate, and intricate.
First RG, and it did not disappoint. Sigh, gunplas are awesome.

  • Good model kit, but there is one small section that you need to be careful of.
Overall good kit, but the only problem that someone might face is with the little blue strips on the shoulders that connect to the side of the arms/elbows. The instructions does not say to specifically not remove the pointing out piece like it does multiple times in other parts. So, when you get to this part of the build. Remember to not remove them, you can look ahead in the instructions like I did because I felt like something was off. That being said, it is good otherwise. ... show more

  • Real Grade Perfection
Bandai's Real Grade 1/144 Exia Gundam is a joy to behold. It is one of the best of the line so far in terms of looks, poseability, and accessories. If you liked anything about the Exia from Gundam 00, this is the kit to have. The level of detail on this kit is great, but not distracting from the simple design. The given decals do enough of a job enhancing it without overwhelming it. Most of the chrome stickering is used as an accent for the semi-clear blue and green parts that adorn the design. Bandai thankfully had the forethought to give this kit chromed blades from the get go and it really makes it stand out. What really makes this kit shine is the ease of poseability. Due to the Exia's simple, melee oriented design, it gets to make great use of the Real Grade action frame. Up on a action base or standing on a shelf, it poses well, balances well and has no trouble holding it's mighty GN Sword at full extension. The cockpit hatch can open, revealing one of the tiniest cockpit openings I have seen, and the GN Drive assembly on the back can extend out slightly to reveal more of it's GN goodness. It's hard for me to find any real caveats with this kit. Perhaps the only one is that the shoulder parts can pop off if you extend the arms too far upward, but that's more a design issue due to the plastic ribbon piece so I can't hold it against it much. The Exia comes with it's GN Sword, the pair of GN Blades, a melee shield, Four beam sabers plus two pegged, a pair of long and short beam blades, pair of RG hands, pair of trigger/grasping hands, pair of fists, and a pair of open hands. It comes with a action base connector so use that if you intend to display it on one. Curiously, it also comes with an extra v-fin so do what you want with it. I painted the extra in more traditional yellow/red colors just to see how it looks. Highly recommended kit. ... show more

  • Its an amazing rendition of the Exia and probably the best looking ...
i wish i could give it 5/5 stars but i just cant. Its an amazing rendition of the Exia and probably the best looking one right next to the metal build. The articulation is great with the exception of the front skirts, which limit the hip movement a great amount. The joints are all nice and tight and nothing is loose. the GN long and short swords stay attached to the hips very well and unlike other Exias, dont look awkward sticking out on the sides. My main problems with this kit are the translucent purple pieces on the legs and the placement of some of the gates on the head parts. The clear purple parts on the fronts of the legs are a problem because (on mine at least) wont stay down in the groove like they are supposed to and stand up flat instead of laying down against the curvature of the leg. My other problem is with the ridiculous gates on the head parts. Like every Exia, 00, and 00 Qan[T] that I've built, its got really bad nubs on the ear pieces, back of the head, and backs of the legs. My main issue with the placement of the ones on the back of the head and legs are that they are attached to the edge of a seam line that would normally be painted and lined, but because they're there they get ruined from the nub removal and sanding. the other issue are the ones on the ear pieces, which were massive for being on such small parts, and as such, when you remove the nubs it leaves a massive mark on them that is quite noticeable unless you do extensive sanding and buffing to them. But all in all its a great kit and if you like exia pick it up. or go on ebay and try and find an astrea because its the superior. ... show more

  • Fantastic build for the price!
This was a fantastic kit to build and it looks great on the shelf. The build was straightforward, although challenging at times, especially considering I’m still fairly new to gunpla building. Trying to get some of the clear blue sticker-like inserts that create the holo effects into place was frustrating, and I almost lost one of the ones for the head unit, but in the end it was worth it as they do look really cool. My biggest criticisms would have to be that the small details are clear-backed stickers rather than dry transfer decals, but again I’m somewhat new, so take that with a grain of salt if that’s how the majority of Real Grade kits are. Additionally, while this is a relatively sturdy kit, I had a few issues with the hands popping out and the right shoulder coming off while trying to fit weapons in place and pose the kit. Once posed, though, it’s not going anywhere. Overall though, this is definitely a kit I’d recommend to any gunpla builder, especially if you’re a fan of the Exia suit and need to have every version of it. Obviously the Master Grade gives you a bit more, especially as it can incorporate an LED unit, but for less than $30 this is a steal of a kit. This was a great way to kill a couple afternoons and it’ll be in the forefront of my gunpla shelf for a long time! ... show more

  • Amazing Detail, Weak Legs
The detail on this kit is amazing. The accessories on the kit leaves a lot of room to the imagination in terms of posability. Unfortunately, the legs are loose and weak and you’ll have a hard time posing the kit without an action base.
