    • Lightweight comfortable back support - useful to wear throughout the day

I need to wear back support for a month or so, so I've gotten used to putting on my back support every day. If you need to wear a brace all day, I'd have more than one. I've tested several, and this one is a nice version of a bare-bones solution. It has the typical height in the back. In some cases, it's more comfortable to have more height. In some cases, this height is appropriate. It depends on whether you're standing or sitting in a car. It also has a comparatively minimal bend into the lumbar spine in the back. I prefer a bit more of a bend to provide more support. That said, other people's backs may be differently shaped than mine. The other key element of a back support is the strap to attach it to your waist, and this one is firm. I apparently chose the correct size based on their sizing chart. The final key element is the straps one pulls on to tighten it in the back area. These are nice, large, and flat, so they don't stick out too much. Since I have others with a more firm hold on the lumbar spine in the back, I rate this as more comfortable for "general wear during the day back support", but not a great choice for more serious back support. Like I said, buy more than one. For folks who need support when they're sleeping, this is also one that might work when you're sleeping since it's generally soft and not putting as much pressure on your back. This back brace is easy to adjust to fit with nice quality velcro - not too sticky, not too loose.. The default is just the nice standard back brace with stays. There’s also a little pocket too add ice or heat. Conceptually that’s nice, but usually if I’m wearing a back brace I’m moving around so I haven’t used that pocket as much as just the plain brace. I’m 5’5 133#, 29” waist, athletic frame and the S/M fits fine. It has a very large range of adjustability so I do believe their statement that it’ll fit 28”-38” waistlines. The belt width is 9”, which is quite a bit wider than most of my other support belts. For me it fits almost hips to ribs, so it does provide a lot of support through the trunk. It has 4 removable metal bars and a double hip closure so you can customize the level of compression to suit your needs. There aren’t any shoulder straps, so I’ll likely scavenge a pair from another brace I have. Quality of construction is quite good for this price range.
