I really have no serious issues with this Gintron Back Brace. It's very sturdy, rigid and supportive of my lower back, it contains a middle bionic support frame in the center of the back along the spine, they don't state what material this support frame is constructed from but my guess is a resin, on either side of this center frame they have what I would call a set of memory aluminum stays and outside of those are a set of metal springs. On the inside I appreciate that they have a very large lumbar shaped pad in the center and on the inner sides they've also included a set of vertical silicone strips, measuring approximately 1 inch wide x the full height of the brace to keep the brace in place whether you're working, bending, sitting or standing. I've never seen this applied on my other lower back braces but I think it's a great idea... At this point in time my Sciatica has not flaired up so it's hard to judge if this brace would provide immediate pain relief as is stated, with the colder temps my working outdoors on my mini-farm has slowed down and since Christmas I've been somewhat of a Couch Potato... I was near the top of the Medium size based on their chart but I now wished I had gone with the Large size for possibly a better fit or it may have turned out to be too large based on the sizing shown on their chart but luckily the Velcro is holding well and I've had no problems with it staying in place. Actually if I wear it underneath my clothes it will probably fit me just right. I never contemplated that around Christmas I would be tempted with so much high quality food and deserts (Lol) but now the New Year's resolution kicks in to pare down my waistline once again. Seriously though, if I could change anything on this brace I would probably have ditched the 2 Springs and gone with additional aluminum memory stays in their place but personally I just prefer more rigidity for the back stays and I just can't see any real benefit of having the set of metal springs. With that said I can still easily recommend this Gintron Back Brace and if you decide to give one a try and you're not as satisfied with it as I am you can return it for a full refund for free thanks to Amazon and the Seller... ... show more

This is a decent brace, but with a few tweaks, it could be made much better. Fabrication-wise, the quality is there. I really like the built in padding on the back side for extra lumbar support. The secondary straps to cinch the belt tighter are well designed. Downsides to this brace are that the metal bars/stays are not removeable, and they bend very easily, which limits their supportiveness. For example, once I tightened the brace, I found that I was feeling poking from these on my back. Yet arching my back was enough to cause these to bend. Yes, you could manually bend them however you like, yet it would be better to have ones that flexed yet flexed back to provide support, and it would be helpful if these were removeable. Also, padding at the top and bottom where the stay-bars are would help avoid the sensation of something jabbing you if you move in a certain way. I believe I could slice a hole at the tops of the stay-slots and replace these stays with different ones. However, when you get a brace, you don't want to have to make modifications to it.
