Rich & emollient, but not sticky or greasy. Can go to bed fine with this on without issue. Wake up to moist, supple, dewy, fresh looking well hydrated skin. I already know this is a repurchase. I use overnight "masks" often. Before there were products marketed as leave on masks, the typical option was to use a night cream, or some sort of occlusive (any oil, petroleum, silicone, heavy cream, etc) to lock in moisture over night, a few nights a week. So now that we see products labeled, "overnight mask" you can know to expect it to help lock in all the other products in your skin care routine, and sometimes it adds in a few extra skin nourishing goodies in case you want to use it alone. This mask is fantastic for my dry 40 something clear skin. My dry skin really responds to having the added moisture through the night. It is a very rich, thin but dense cream. After my night time skin care routine, I pat on a generous dose of this cream. It is very rich, a little oily, and has a comforting feel to it. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy, but it is definitely an emollient. Directions say to apply a layer, let sit for ten minutes, then massage in and leave on. I dont always remember to massage in. I do gently pat on, and that seems to be enough. I am usually up for awhile before smashing my face into my pillow, so some of this has absorbed or set by the time I am ready for sleep. No issues with slopping up my silk pillows. THEN, when I wake up.. OOH YES. my skin looks GOOD!! So soft looking and feeling. Smooth, hydrated, supple. Somehow my skin looks more even in tone too (I have redness from type 1 Rosacea). Just looks like a healthy complexion. Directions say to use just a couple times a week. The box includes lots and lots of great information about the ingredients. The tube itself doesnt say much, so hold onto the box if you want to refer back to it. There's an awful lot to like about this overnight mask. Actually, there's nothing that I DON'T like. It starts with the box that the tube comes in. It indicates that the tube is 30% recycled material, the box itself is on recycled paper. Printed on the box is a breakdown of every single ingredient. I have yet to see that on any other product. In the United States, unlike the EU, the word parfum or fragrance can be used without identifying what exactly that is. That means it can contain allergy triggers that can be devastating for someone with sensitive skin. Not only do they explain every component of the fragrance, but it's all safe. In taking the tube out of the box, I'm very happy to see that there was a safety seal helping to keep the product not only sanitary but also fresh. After cleansing in the evening, I applied my serum, and then this mask, which comes out of the tube like a cream. I hated to wake wash my face when I woke up, since it was so soft and smooth! Being 60, at the age when skin starts thinning, I was happy to see that this is also a mask of that provides skin barrier support for that issue. In my opinion, this is also an excellent mask for someone much younger, as many of the ingredients will help to prevent the issues that happened to us all over time, such as wrinkling from age or sun. You might wonder why it's important to use it at night. That's when your skin, and your whole body for that matter, goes into healing and regeneration mode. SPF might be important during the day, making one believe that it's the most important time to apply skin care products, but evening is just as important, only for different reasons. Anyway, hopefully this review has helped you to make a decision about whether or not you'd like to invest in this mask. For those in their 30s, it's an investment in future skin. For people like myself, It's a fantastic moisturizer for my dehydrated skin as well as helping to rebuild it healthwise. Love whatever skin you're in! xxoo ... show more
